0:12 you were in Toronto, that is where I am from!! This week I will be picking up my new 2023 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT and I am so excited because it is my 1st bike.

The Gus-video-drought is over, finally.... I already developed withdrawal symptoms - LOL - I bought my 1100 DCT last Nov. 9 because of a recommendation of my wife's relative, who instructed me that Honda had an automatic Rebel version now, but 1100 cc. I was all ears right away, since I was about to get the Yamaha Bolt Spec, which also an US friend of mine in my former neighbourhood bought 3 years ago. After that, the Bolt was out of the picture, but I was lucky to get the 1100. Since this bike here in the Philippines sells like fresh sliced bread. Our mayor wanted to get one too, after he had ridden my bike, and was not able to get one up to this day. Why an "automatic"? Because I am lazy. Want to ride a bike, not fight or work on it. Nature here is too beautiful to be ignored, just because you have to focus on riding a bike properly. I am too old for that "shit".... LOL Thanks for your adventure. A great pleasure to watch - as always.

You are too kind brother! I had rented the bolt before buying the rebel 1100! I can confirm that the Rebel 1100 is head and should shoulders better! I totally agree with you and you feel about the DCT! I just want to ride as far and as long as I can! 🍻

Absolutely amazing ride and informative video! It was a very wise and excellent riding decision to just pull over and let the tailgater pass! I absolutely love my 2022 CMX1100 DCT!! Thanks for taking us along! 👍🏾✌🏾

Thank you Rebelations! I really appreciate your support man! I am always worried about tailgaters tbh and i'm often gesturing for them to slow down when they are too close for comfort, 99% they understand and give me a little room, for the ones that don't, i look for the first opportunity to let them go, i know my place LOL I try to set my ego aside, i'd like to ride another day, everyday....

@@ontherebel11 I absolutely agree. We are the “little guys” on the road and it’s definitely unwise to be the “bully” with so much tonnage out there that could cause us a lot of unpleasantness, damage, pain and outright death! Thank you for the reply. 👍🏾✌🏾

Really REALLY looking forward to longer trips with my Rebel 1100. Just hit 800 miles driving around locally the last few weeks. Only been about an hour away from my home and back at most. Planning a 3 hour ride this fall here in Michigan (would be 6 hours total, 3 there and back.). Looking forward to many many more trips like yours! I really want to ride this baby thru the desert our west. Slowly building up to a trip that's a few weeks long, maybe in a year or so! Great video as always friend!

Hi Ryan, thanks for stopping by man!! You are definitely going about it the right way, start small and work up to it, that's how i did it as well, the rebel is a fantastic tourer, you just have to dial it in slowly over time - priority being risers, seat and screen. Enjoy the journey Ryan!!

With the E-Clutch isn't necessary use the hand, if you don't want too, also. The DCT weight 10kg, while the E-Clutch 2kg, so isn't possible a widespread diffusion of the DCT.

Yes, the E-clutch is also interesting as well as the smart clutch by MVAgusta which helps provide many more options for me!

Something interesting about the 1100 DCT (or even the manual version). There was a review from Yammy Noob recently about the Yamaha MT09, that here you can cancel the cruise control with a back-flip of the throttle (and that this is unique to this bike). I observed also before that the throttle of the 1100 can be turned backwards a bit, but I was not aware, if this had any meaning or function. After the Noob report, I tried to cancel my cruise control on the 1100 by counter-rotating the throttle.... and it worked every time, I repeated the procedure. Nobody has ever talked about this feature. Seems to be a hidden Easter egg from Honda, since I couldn't find any hints regarding this. Did you know anything about this feature? Or does this "malfunction" exist only on my bike? I am interested to hear your take on this....
@ontherebel114 ай бұрын
Hi there! Yes that is a great question! I still remember how happy I was to discover it, I use it all the time but it has become a reflex that I totally forgot about it! I also use the paddle shifters to disengage the cruise control, an example is that I have cruise control set to 70mph and I am on the highway overtaking and there is a car in front and another one behind me but I want to disengage the cruise control and control the throttle manually, what I do is open the throttle slightly and simultaneously press the shift up paddle, that was there is no engine Braking to catch the car behind me be surprise, it is safer that way. It's an amazing cruise control system by Honda, I love it! 🤙

Hello brother! I’m riding Rebel 1100, and I’m planning to go to Dubai this coming December which is about 800km. My question is how do you cover such a distance without getting tired 😅. Any advice?
@ontherebel114 ай бұрын
Hi Mohammed! That's going to be an awesome ride! I try to take breaks before I get tired, because once the discomfort and pain starts, you can't stop it. I prefer to ride no more than 400 km per day if possible. I try to stop every hour for a break. But most importantly is to have the bike comfortable for you. I added bar risers to help my back stay straight and a comfortable seat as well as a screen, those are a priority for a more comfortable ride. Keep us updated bro! 🤙

I noticed you removed your top box. I'd have thought you'd be using that on a long trip, what happened? I ask because I just bought one online. Do you not recco using them? I bought a 40L to store my helmet and jacket when I go for a hike or into a restaurant.
@ontherebel11Ай бұрын
You will love having the top box, it is so convenient!!! I didn't need it on this trip as it was a short one and everything fit in my saddlebags. I highly recommend the to box, it was the star of the show on my winter trip to key west last winter.

@@ontherebel11 good, I'm looking forward to getting it. Meanwhile, all your extensive travels far from home makes me wonder; Is there a "significant other" who doesn't mind you riding off into the sunset for a couple of weeks on your own, or are you unattached? My kids are grown, but my wife would not be thrilled . Obviously I can go, she wouldn't hold me back, but she wouldn't be happy and I'd feel guilty. She is afraid to go over 30mph on a bike so getting her one isn't an option. Curious what your situation is and how you handle it.
