Nice work! It's a pain in the ass to rip a thread. I'm working a Suzuki Savage 650 from a friend who's bike have been awfully manipulated by some mechanic which changed from metric to inch all the valve cover threads. I repaired those with a helicoil insert. Also, I see you cleaned thoroughly the oil strainer, that's really good if you found all that silicone in the engine crankcase. The Honda magna vf45 have a crankcase cover that exposes the strainer better to clean. It's easier than splitting the case. Maybe I'll be doing some of this work to my rebel too. Great job!

@@javiercastro8802 Thanks man! Yes was my first time. Just make sure everything is clean when you put everything back together. After putting it back together and after I ride I have a small oil leak from the seal behind the left side cover 😩. It doesn’t leak a lot. I was able to slow it down with silicone on the outside but it still leaks when it’s sitting after I ride. There aren’t many videos on tearing down this engine on KZbin. I found videos here and there of the 450 engine but they were from all different years and models. So it was alittle tough when your doing it for the first time

@jamesa6272 what gasket sealant did you used? I was told that yamabond works great for sealing half cases. I just found also a special case gasket sealant like silicone in AutoZone that may do it well to make a good seal in the split case. What gasket kit did you used to replace yours?

Man I wish could have watched you do this step by step. I assume since you tore it down there was something else wrong in bottom end. :(

Hey. Yeah the starter bolts backed themselves out of the starter clutch. So when putting everything back together I saw that bolt was stripped from previous tear down of someone else. I just put thread locker on that bolt

@@jamesa6272 Do you have a website or some other social media your posting stuff to on this? I have a 87 450 and it has not been run in yrs. I know it needs carbs clean, and I saw oil moisture around the engine to cylinder. Was thinking maybe fork\dust seals to. Would be awesome to pick your brain on this bike.
