There’s nothing tactical about her behavior. Every single fight scene she is just open and exposed in the middle of a group of opponents. That’s the quickest way to be worm food. The world building is atrocious and infantile and so the plot that follows makes no sense whatsoever. A big world killing battleship takes Darth Vader to a family farm? WTF? He uses the giant dog bone of tyranny and leaves a small contingent of soldiers forgetting to turn off their ‘autorape’ switches. She then proceeds to drive the Algerian space bus to pick up Tonto, the Wicked Eitch from the Far East, and Uncle Remus to fight space Vader. Because they’re running out of resources? Yet build this massive fleet of incredibly advanced ships that couldn’t get resources from empty planets? This makes Dave Filoni‘s stories look positively Shakespearean.

I mean the budget thing is kind of impressive. For 166 mill he did both parts which if we assume they both have director's cuts is 8 hours of footage. Most hollywood blockbusters for that amount of money can barely squeeze out half a movie. Dial of Destiny would be 45 minutes long if the budget was 166 million. And color grading aside, Snyder movies look better than your average MCU schlock. Did he really cheap out on catering or has a genius accountant, or slow-motion helps out not only with running time but also the budget, more movies should learn a thing or two about getting more bang from your buck from Snyder.

I thought Rebel Moon was thoroughly mediocre. I don't think it was dogshit, but I'd have a hard time believing a studio would green light the project with someone else at the helm. Not with that budget. My main problem with it was that it had no characterization and the plot was a cannibalization of Star Wars. It's one thing when Disney releases a Star Wars movie that "rhymes" with another movie, but it's quite another when some other movie does it. Really good review, have a sub. I'd just add how illogical the initial premise is - a highly advanced, space-faring enemy needs to....raid a primitive village...for grain. That just doesn't fly.

@@paulchin4094 True, but that still doesn't help this premise expecting a village of 100+ people who can barely feed themselves be expected to feed a ship of 5000+

Extremely illogical indeed. 100+ can barely feed themselves are now expected to feed 5000+? LOL Thank you for the sub.

@@CopaExMachina Perhaps you need to be reminded them that some fantasy or sci-fi, intentionally play with logic and reality. It's the director's goal might not be strict adherence to logic, but rather creating a specific atmosphere or exploring themes in a fantastical way. Suspension of disbelief: I'm sure you understand this the concept. Every movie requires some level of this, even realistic dramas. Directors have creative freedom and make artistic choices to achieve their vision. Sometimes, logic might be sacrificed for artistic expression, symbolism, or emotional impact.

I have to be honest, im not a huge Snyder fan...I like sonme and dislike others. But I have to say I enjoyed Rebel Moon. Is it thr greatest movie ever?? NO BUT it was entertaining and fun. I think so many people on the internet have breen swayed by the overwhelming negativity about this movie and the hate for Snyder. I think people are SHEEP and easily swayed. I would bet that more then half the people bashing this movie havent even seen it. I prefer to make my judgement by actually watching something. Too many trolls and people who just want attention and likes on their channel just spew negativity to gain popularity. NO TALENT IN TROLLING!!!

@jsun58 Жыл бұрын
@@CopaExMachinaoverall enjoyable. Gritty, loved the music, action, costumes. I want to learn more about Jimmy …I should also point out that in 7 samurai NONE of the characters have any backstory. They just get collected to fight. In RM I can guarantee you that all the characters will have a backstory revealed. Everyone is judging this film with one eye open. Ok so let’s say they add a bunch of backstory in part 1, then the complaint will be the film isn’t progressing enough. Or only 2 characters will be collected because so much time was spent in backstory exposition. You just can’t win
