Lots of these characters I kept asking, "why are you here?" And not in a narrative way, with their backstories, but a meta-narrative way with the plot. For example: Oceans Eleven has a ton of characters doing a heist, but each one had a specific set of skills and was necessary to do a specific part of the plan. Sometimes more than one part, but each one was indispensible. In Rebel Moon, what was the absolutely necesssary skill that each person brought? Why did we need all these characters? I don't need backstory if each has a skill and a personality. I don't know Don Cheadle's backstrory in Oceans 11, but he was the demolitions guy that was going to give them their power outage window. I wanted him to succeed because without him the plan would fail. I never felt that with these side characters. I get you have a "main character," but if the others aren't indispensible, then you should cut them from the script and streamline the story.

I also think that rebel moon part 1 & 2 is the fault of every obsessive snyderfan out there. They massage his ego so much that he thinks he’s something he’s not. A good director. I actually think this franchise that Snyder and his cult love so much isn’t going to see the light of day. Netflix isn’t interested in low numbers. Neither is Warner Bros with the films he did with DC. I’m sort of glad these films exist now because we now know that when Snyder has all the money and creativity offered to him from Netflix, he’s still going to piss it up the wall. We all know that now and so does every other film distributor. Snyder should just stay as a creative consultant and let someone else direct films he’s part of.

Cmon how does adding R rated content make a movie more cohesive. If you can’t make a good movie in the average runtime that every filmmaker makes a good movie in, stop shifting blame. That is coming from within. We all have our internal worlds. Jeremy has a sincere and kind vibe to him. You can tell that he actually cares about what he does and that passion makes his reviews among the best on KZbin. It comes from within. @@KabbalahSherrysorry. The rating and the studio has nothing to do with how bad this series is. Zach just doesn't have it anymore. He is literally a parody of his past self. Kind of like the wachowski's. ( Yes I probably spelled their name wrong.. don't care. )

Ny favorite part was when they're debating about tactics, and out of nowhere Digimon Honsou is just like, "LET'S EACH TAKE TURNS EXPLAINING OUR TRAGIC BACKSTORIES, I'LL GO FIRST," and then we have to sit through a bunch of 15-minute slow motion vignettes for each character
@cuchelo19 ай бұрын
And then Djimon tells a story abt how he tried to sacrifice himself to save his men from the evil empire and the evil empire evil empired and slaughtered his men to punish him and then a scant few hours later Kora says she'll sacrifice herself so the evil empire won't slaughter the village and honestly it didn't make her noble it made her absolutely stupid. And I'm sorry but they have the ability to literally raise someone from the dead but they don't have a machine to beep-boop mashed potatoes so they need to go to the ends of the universe to get some wheat thins... like, WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL IS GOING ON HERE.

My favourite part was when the end credits came up until I realised I wasted 2 hours of my life hoping it would get better. I did learn 2 things though... 1) pretty sure the casting couch was involved. 2) also pretty sure that the people making this saw every thing I have seen from Firefly to Star Wars and the Magnificent Seven.

Just before this I was watching a music reaction stream and there was a reaction to Manowar. Someone said that the album cover looked a bit like Broforce game. Never heard of Broforce before. Coincidence that the next video I watched mention Broforce! This just made me think of... what if in the future with AI capacity I would watch something on youtube and AI would be able to "insert" on the spot content into other videos based on the content I recently viewed. Like I could see a future where personalised ads are inserted subtely into any content that we would barely notice. Or worse, targeted audience propaganda subtely inserted here and ther by AI.

*Apparently* parts 1 and 2 were originally supposed to be a single (albeit +3 hour), hard R movie, but it was split in two and toned down (probably because Netflix wanted this to actually be their Star Wars, and those are always family friendly), *but* (again) there is a Snyder cut incoming at some point (assuming Netflix don't do a Jupiter's Legacy and just shrug it off because no one cared), and the man himself has said it completely changes the movie (here's hoping). Then again, he did say the same about the BvS director's cut, and it really didn't.

As a farmer myself, I must say that the farming parts were more spectacle than realistic or instructive, still the movie as a whole, with the struggles of farmers vs their corporate overlords is timely, important, and I enjoyed it. I do wish the movie included more legitimate farming info or maybe a more in-depth portrayal of a particular seed or husk that is important to them as a people... but I'm nitpicking here and it's not time to harvest the nit yet.

I normally skip the sponsor bit, but Displate is really good. 🙌🏽 Over 10 years ago, I got my brother a Vegeta wall display; it was so cool. I was really impressed by the quality and design. Very vivid colors and depth; there's a light and brilliance that emanates from the picture. The artist captured Prince Vegeta well. 👑 I also remember the packaging was really nice, too. With the company being overseas for me (outside US), Displate took time and care to ensure the order arrived in pristine condition. Anyway, I'd highly recommend them. 👌🏾🌟

The most absurd thing about this movie is that this galactic empire was willing to risk a ground assault with these guys over some grain. Like they could've nuked the entire village from space and not have to deal with any of this bs. But no, they needed the grain for their survival or something 😂😂😂

Its not even that bad. Y'all are just living in an social media, echo chamber. Movies can be fun, and not be overly complicated or need to be exactly what you believe they should be. Id love to see each one of your personal takes on the product, maybe your own edits and quality you put into it.

A lot of people have watched the movie and didn’t even feel compelled to finish it past the first half. Most of the comments come from People that have attempted to watch it. Nobody expects a movie to be complicated or deep. At minimum it has to be entertaining and interesting and apparently this movie doesn’t check those boxes for most people.

THAT statement unfortunately goes for most Zach Synder films. The dude is a really talented cinematographer, but being a director is more than capturing good visuals. There's dialogue, pacing, bringing plot & characters in a script to life. He should relearn the fundamentals of directing and cut his teeth working on much smaller projects. You can tell he stopped developing as a director after a certain point. Even though he has had some successes with 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel...there's still a clear lack of growth in his art.

Thank you Jeremy. I watch your reviews routinely and I added this movie to my Netflix watch list after seeing part 1 recently. I remember seeing the title, “Rebel Moon” and asking myself (having never heard of this film beforehand) if it was some kind of Star Wars Episode 6 prequel movie about Endor, so I mistakenly added it under that assumption then experienced an enormous let down. I added part 2 because the optimist in me thought, because it got a sequel, perhaps I’d just watched part 1 in the wrong frame of mind (expecting to see Star Wars characters) - I disliked not feeling interest in any of that film’s characters, seeing the Nazi big boss empire rip off-guy get his beans in the end felt predictable and unoriginal, and I can’t actually remember any of the character’s names at all, but I was hoping this film would make part 1 good. I see it doesn’t do that so I’ll give it a miss until I’m desperate for something else to watch.

Thank you for your review sir. Now I don’t have to waste my time. I saw Part 1 when it came out and was genuinely excited. I liked it. A few days later after the wave of excitement washed out of me I tried to remember plot elements from the movie. It took a few minutes to get there. I totally forgot everyone’s name. Now that we’re a few months out I can not for the life of me remember a goddamn thing from part 1. The excitement I had for part 1 is not there for part 2. I couldn’t care less about part2.
