I really can't get over how amazing this MOC is. I truly wish it was a set; it's just great. The bomber just looks fantastic from all angles. You really did a magnificent job on this thing. And I keep replaying the bomber scene from the TIE Fighter short film in my head, thinking of the magazine spinning to select the appropriate missiles. Seriously great job.

I believe he would. His Interceptor was pretty cool. As you pointed out, source shots for the Bomber are kind of in short supply. I used to have a fairly detailed miniature of one, but it fell far short for a UCS build. Lucas should toss us all a HD 3d scan of the true miniature. I can dream. ;]

Looks great, for greebling you can use dark bluish gray phone pieces, those always work for me.

For the color stuff, the original movie's tie fighters were supposed to be tinted blue, but due to the blue-screen tech, any blue colors would either become blue or would have to be edited to black, like R2D2's dome in the trench running scene.

I have a recommendation, you should use the octoganal round piece, like you used on the engine for your tie defender, and use a 1x2 hinge piece and put a 1x2 tile on them, and have that around, it's looks nice and wouldn't have those parts sticking out.
