the great thing about being an automaton is that you don't have to engage your brain. when the sergeant whined about having two escapes and the auditor told him "well, that's on YOU" was priceless.
@denismeans29102 жыл бұрын
Why is it okay to bait these officers? This scruffy looking character shows up outside a jail facility and you think, oh please don't violate his civil rights. Is this guy casing the place to help a dangerous felon escape? Or looking for an access point to smuggle illegal contraband into the facility? Those are reasonable concerns.
@twain30742 жыл бұрын
@@denismeans2910 Civil rights are like muscles... if you don't exercise them, they atrophy. What YOU call "baiting" is really cops not knowing (or knowing and not honoring) the law. Suspicion is not a crime; public photography is not a crime; there is no expectation of privacy in public. EVERY one of these points has been ruled on by SCOTUS. USA cops get less training than anywhere else in the industrialized world. They are taught 18 different ways to subdue you and a multitude of 'pain points" to control you, but they know virtually nothing of actual law or Constitutional rights. You should worry about THAT.
@denismeans29102 жыл бұрын
@@twain3074 I worry more about public safety. We know police are receiving combat training and innocent people are dying as a result. Provoking a police officer carrying a loaded weapon may seem like fun, until someone goes to far. That's the point. Sadistic people like teasing animals for fun until the animal turns. Then they demand the animal be put down because it's dangerous.
@twain30742 жыл бұрын
@@denismeans2910 ...OK, I don't care at all for your analogy. Videoing a police officer should NOT provoke a response. SCOTUS has ruled about 1.) public photography not being a crime, 2.) suspicion not being a crime, 3.) reasonable articulatable suspicion being required for a detainment. IF a cop is a sadist and IF a cop does not know or chooses to ignore the law, THEN he/she should not be a cop. We are not Nazi Germany, and cops are not Gestapo. The USA is already so far down the road to a police state that we may never recover. NOT calling them our or exposing what they do is a failure on our part.

"What is the issue?" "I have children playing on the sidewalk." "Oh, my. I will dispatch someone immediately." "Dispatch to Unit 203. A report of children playing on a sidewalk. Respond code 3."
