Great color wheel! The only "last" thing missing from the color wheel is the ability to show and select complements/triads/discords, etc. ArtRage added that to their color wheel eventually. I like the HSLuv!

Hi, your videos are invaluable and i've enjoyed each one for rebelle 7. I wonder are you able to do a video or have info on preparing to print.. specifically converting to cmyk.. what is the best way? my local print place only does cmyk.. maybe there is a hack for knowing how to boost the saturation/vividness and brightness to stay in RGB file type, but print in cmyk, in a predictable way?

But we still need CMYK colour capability in Rebelle and this seems to be missing from each release of Rebelle, including version 7 - WHY?!?!?!
@EscapeMotions Жыл бұрын
Even though Rebelle is not able to use the CMYK color space at the moment, there is still something you can do to check your colors - you can use the "soft proofing" for your colors to see how they match the CMYK color via the Preferences > Color Management > Proof Colors. Here, you can select your printer's profile and compare the colors painted in Rebelle. Enable the color proofing option via the menu View > Proof Colors or by hitting the shortcut Ctrl+Y (Cmd+Y on macOS).

@@EscapeMotions - Thanks for the reply, it is much appreciated. However, customers have been asking you for active CMYK colour space capability for years now (seen on your Forum). So why can't this be provided? I don't think it is an unreasonable or big ask for customers to ask for this, so that they can work live in CMYK colour space in a painting software to paint their art ready for it to be printed by them or someone else etc. I'm really struggling to see why this can't be achieved relatively easily by Escape Motions???
@EscapeMotions Жыл бұрын
Rebelle currently operates on a 3-layer system (RGB). Implementing a true CMYK mode with a separate Black channel requires a 4-layer system. There needs to be a lot of changes to accommodate 4 layers in areas such as painting, simulation, or layer management. Regrettably, there is no straightforward solution for this at the moment.

@@EscapeMotions - Again thanks for your reply, it is much appreciated. But.... Are you saying you won't or can't provide this functionality then? as customers need to know this and deserve a straight forward answer as to if you are or aren't going to ever provide this, and if you are then when, i.e. version 7.x / 8 / 9 / never etc? Photoshop has CMYK live painting capability and colour proofing etc. Albeit, it doesn't have Rebelle's paint and paper texture capabilities and a few other things are in and out of the two software packages etc.

As far as I can tell, there isn't a keyboard shortcut for: "Add current color to Color Set". That would be a nice addition. Sometimes there are certain colors missing from the 35 colors imported from a file option that need to be added to the color set. By having a "add current color to the color set" keyboard shortcut I could quickly select colors and then add them to the color set. If there is a keyboard shortcut then let me know, please!

The color shortcuts are not working on Rebelle 7 Pro. When using color shortcuts, the sliders move around, but the colors don't apply. I love the Rebelle a lot and it's the only painting software I use for painting (even for 3D models). Sadly, I still use Rebelle 6 Pro because the color shortcuts give a special look to my paintings and 3D models.

Instead of Gradient slider (where you could not select a color), you can use Lightness slider.

03:40 Look at the colors of the S and L slider. They are blue although you picked a green color. At 03:44 it shows a maxed out S slider for white. Gives you a nice impression of what kind of bugs you can expect with this software.

I don’t think you know how hsl works. Lol
@klabautermannm.7506 Жыл бұрын
@@autofocus4556 I do. The S and L slider should pick up the currently selected hue so that it is easy to see what color you'd get if you adjust them. The sliders are clearly "stuck" on the blue he used earlier. And white means zero S and maximum L, hue does not matter. The S number displays a 4, which is correct, but the circle grab handle thingy is to the very right of the slider, which is wrong. It should be at the very left for white. And don't lol me like it's 2003.

I'm from a traditional painting background. I didn't understand what you meant by "brightness". Brightness seems a weird word choice because it could refer to either saturation or value...which are two totally different things. I think you're using "brightness" as a synonym for value. Am I correct? Thanks
