Using a deck with a THINK!!! & Flashback combo. Flashback deals damage upon being discarded, THINK!!! discards... you get the idea. A deck needs a minimum of 5 distinct cards, so I added a heal card, a 0-cost card and a damage-amplifying card.
The plan is simple: use THINK!!! to draw as many Flashback cards as I can, use Mega Charge to amplify Flashback's damage, then end my turn and watch the damage pile up. You'll see me prolong some battles, that's because using cards fills up the godsoul blast bar (the blue one) of the corresponding godsoul. The deck relies on luck, as can be seen in the couple of initial battles where I struggle a bit without a plentiful of THINK!!! cards from the starting draw.
I screw up by being too greedy and conserving the godsoul blast when I should have used it. Without the healer, I'm unable to sustainably face tank damage to arrive on the second turn where I can use the Linkers' abilities.
Were the damage dealer to die, I could reliably repeat Tactic & THINK!!! to fill up the godsoul blast gauge and deal damage that way every 2 turns, but the healing would be half as effective (it doubles effectiveness when choosing to discard another elemental card, which would be Mega Charge here).
Were the engine to die, Flashback could still be used to get by a couple more battles.
If I and the enemy were immortal, on the second turn I'd use THINK!!!s to get as many Flashback cards as possible, use the Linker ability that discard all cards, use the Linker ability that draws 7 cards, spend the remaining energy on THINK!!!s, then end my turn. In an ideal case, this would deal 14 Flashback cards in damage + additional from the Linker's damage. But of course, it isn't, so I instead usually opt to fill the blast gauge or search for the healing card.
There's another card with an effect on discard, but it's just to draw another card. Since the main damage from this deck comes from Flashback, best case is drawing a Flashback to have it be discarded, but at that point the initially discarded card could've been another Flashback to begin with.
Also fun fact: cards in your hand aren't in the discard pile (ie they don't get shuffled back into the draw pile), so by having all your cards in the hand, you can use a card then use THINK!!! to put it back in your hand. (eg alternate between Tactic & THINK!!! to grow the blast gauge ~14 cards per turn).
Is this card composition the best? I dunno, but I think it's funny.
And to reiterate, the gameplay is from the demo (for Steam's Next Fest June 2024).
