I am rebinding the "The Lord Of The Rings" series and "The Hobbit" into a LEATHER bound book set. I had so much fun making these books and I'm extremely happy with how they all came out. They are one of my favourite sets I've made so far!

My Mother knew how to repair and rebind books. She didn't do it very often but she was very meticulous. If we consider centuries past when most wealthy people would buy certain books, they would choose to have them rebound for their collections so the covers would match and protect the books. Your artistry enhances the works.

Now I have seen so many rebindings of these books (I love them, too)... the urge to do it myself grows. But until now I didn't work with leather. Seems there is a first time to everything.

I'm a bit surprised that you would put that much work into books that have a glued binding vs. sewn, which are far more durable and long-lasting. Is there a reason why you use glued books?
