For the OG players of this modpack, the Sous Chef had an aura that summoned robotic vultures, and they had access to robotic companions and androids. I'd guess this Engineer class will be based around those mechanics (pun intended).

I ran all classes to lvl 10 to test and I have to say I was surprised by the techno geek, I didn't like it at all in the A20 build but for some reason it just shines now in comparison, my playstyle is more hunter class as I normally play 7D2D as a stealth bow build (Legacy of to much Skyrim). Great breakdown on the classes. I will probably go with Berserker once I can play this mod since I am currently on a Raven Hearst play through. Weird for them to ask for more classes since 11 is over kill. I would have preferred new tougher end game blocks for base protection, traps or enemies but I guess the folks have spoken.

Yeah, the first place selection by players was they wanted more scenarios like the The Purge. However, Ramsay did say a short while ago that he will probably do another class instead of another scenario.

@@SnowBee 32nd restart. day 53. just crafted Inconel mace quality 45825. im at about 300/1000 magazines to max it. things are going quite good but Im not taking a slight chance. a very close call yesterday with 2 feral cops literally sniped me in the face withing 2 secs... couldnt for luife of me click on my stupid motorcycle in the grass! HP cross was literally empty! if I got bleed that would be it! Still on the lookout for a Beaker. I maybe opened like 100+ ambulances and pop-n-pill crates already; nothing. kinda holds me back because I could craft some paper and magazines with it way more easier than scrapping magazines and books.

Have to admit, I'm struggling just to get soldier unlocked. Getting enough ammo to get enough ranged kills to get the ranged book fragment is taking forever. I expected it to be something unlocked more or less on day 1 but 5 days in and not quite there. (Including trading in all ammo for 7.62)

In my first playthrough when I was testing the unreleased mod in A21, I had the same problem. Mainly also owing to a lack of understanding. Now, I honestly think running around town is easier to do, avoid zombies and just go from newsstand to postbox. Get those weapon expertise fragments and craft a book so you at least get one half and use a weapon for the other.

Well, you can use knives if you want, just the ultimate knife will be something you can only wield if you were a sous-chef.

Yeah, I am unsure which to start with, just remember if you start with witch doctor, you need to be level 8 before you can jump to another profession. If you are sous-chef, you would get to level 6, then you can move. That way, you will keep your various stills from the old class as well.

As someone who always tends to go pure melee, the Berserker looks awesome, does it always get access to the highest tier melee weapons or was that only during blood moons? Otherwise it seems like it would be better to take it as the second class?

You need to be at least level 40 to use a top tier melee weapon, and you need to be that class. However, the berserker can stay berserker and still use the top tier weapons without having to become a soldier or builder, etc. So, he can use any melee weapons he wants at anytime. Well, that is not quite true... the witch doctor has some nasty concoctions, so the berserker can wield the witch doctor's scythe, but can't drink any potions to make it convert or mind control minions.

Yes, when I was looking at his for the guide, I was also thinking along those lines. It does stand to the great work the mod dev did on this. If I was going to choose an option, I have not played Builder, but I would recommend it. Using hand guns with the builder is pretty awesome and once you get higher in the skill tree, heads will roll with the decapitation and dismemberment triggering quite often. Use Hi Power ammo with that, and you have yourself an early festive season of zombie deaths.

Hmm, Sous Chef gets more from animal harvesting and food in general, so that is better. However, with hunter, you can be a silent killer... so you may not need to worry about bonuses, just go around with your bow and kill stuff, with the extra sneak damage as well.

No, farming is cross class, so makes no difference. Just some recipes and food benefits for the sous chef.

I have not played Builder. However, in my homework and doing the class video, I think the Builder is brilliant. Its ability to kill stuff instantly with a pistol I think is very good.

Do you level skills "by doing" or by books in Rebirth?

Both. So, when you do stuff, like shoot, kill, salvage, walk, run, etc, it effects your skills and genetic attributes. However, you can obtain weapon expertise books for increasing your weapons level, and genetics injections for increasing your main attributes.

Yes, you must craft the two halves of the class book, and read it. Which you have done. I would suggest you get on the Discord and ask there. Reading the book means you *should* be a witch doctor now.

No, as far as I know it does not harm allies. Members in your own party should be fine. I know it does not destroy your base blocks.

It's still not clear to me how I start a second class. I've got my thug to level 6. What do I do now to start another class? I made a pipe machine gun and am using it but I don't see how that progresses me toward the soldier class.

@rickhagen433 if you click under the soldier class in your skills menu, you will see the half class fragment needed melee. That is an axe. The pipe machine gun should give the other half. However you may already have it. So check that. If you type soldier in your crafting menu, tab key, it will show you the two solder class fragments and whether they are locked or not.

Great work as always. This sounds like you are bound to those weapons you specialize in. None of those weapon combinations are actually appealing to me. Like the hunter. It´s nice, but i don´t like rifles at all. I would much prefer using a smg or ak with a build like that. The mod looks like something i would love to play, but it seems the classes are very restrictive and that you loose your advantages if using other weapons. And i hope you can rebind the page up and down keys to the mouse thumb buttons. Otherwise i can see myself dying using keys i basically never use otherwise.

Yeah, then you would need to play the class with the weapons you prefer. The classes generally work with the weapons. Choose the weapon let the class be secondary.

Well... let me just suggest this then :) You could just stick with bows. If bows is a weapon you love, then you get a lot under hunter. You just need to use the pipe rifle initially to start your class. However, you could also just run around town early on looking in post boxes and news stands, and loot ranged weapon expertise fragments. Convert that into a rifle expertise book and do it by never having to shoot a rifle. Just one ranged expertise rifle book will get your ranged weapon class half fragment. Once that is done, you can use your bows and start using maybe a pipe machine gun. Once you are level 6 of hunter, either continue to level 10 or swap to another class. You should be pretty potent by that stage with your bows.

Could be... though you still have to kill the turned zombies eventually. Great for horde night, turning monsters and causing havoc during bloodmoon. However, you need to craft the potions and brews to use mind control. You can't mind control the magic imbued monsters, which there will be more of later when the more features are added.

The speed and mobility of the hunter should work quite well as a first class. So once you move to WD, you will have that extra mobility and be able to dart around mind controlling. Also the bow with mind control is an option for the WD. So coming from hunter will make using the bow better. Yeah, I think that could work well.

The magazines that are in the game are part of the progression system. However, action skills are also part of progression, so you can learn by doing as well.

I have absolutely no exp in modding, so I could be talking out of my ass, but afaik Furious Ramsay developed this mod out of his own pocket, and passion. Likely the character models and other art come from the Unity store, where to some extent, you get what you pay for. Ramsay only gets paid from members (I am one), and I doubt its enough to make a living, especially considering he has to buy the art for every new feature or whatever that gets added. While I agree somewhat with what you say, I understand where its coming from. There are some other popular overhaul mods that have much worse looking art imo.
