Hex's final words - "Bob, I have always loved you. Dot, look after him." Even though she's a virus, she always did have that streak of goodness in her, and that's what made her such a likeable villain.

Proving the two biggest lessons from Reboot: Love conquers all. Chaos will always triumph over order. It is the way of things.
@MrOrcshaman Жыл бұрын
I'd rather think of it as chaos and order both need to exist, to keep each other from consuming everything, because ultimately it all leads to nothingness in the end.
@mitchc.2660 Жыл бұрын
@MrTaurenshaman that's one way to look at it, but in the context of the show, order was the oblivion of nothingness (Daemon was bringing order) and chaos was life. Everyone had codes, but they could change and grow and be more or less than what people expected of them.
@MrOrcshaman Жыл бұрын
@@mitchc.2660 thats true, I guess I was reflecting on other concepts of order and chaos from different media, but in context to the show it makes sense as you say, chaos leads to change and growth while order prevents it. @mitchc.2660 Жыл бұрын

@jamesvach6698 Жыл бұрын
If I may interject my own thoughts. Order and chaos are as described here yet they also have another aspect to them. Order as noted can cause stagnation but can also bring about structure. Chaos as noted can lead to change and growth, but it can also lead to destruction. Things often have at least two sides to them, much as a sword has two edges. Still, it does lead to interesting questions. For example, does chaos cause change, or do changes cause chaos? There are always those more comfortable with what they see as a more stable system for one reason or another, sometimes it is because it personally benefits them and sometimes it is because what is unknown can be terrifying. It is why in fiction there are often periods of unrest or chaos when changes occur particularly if order has caused a society to effectively stand still for long periods of time. Likewise, a rigid structure may provide stability and order, but how long can that rigid order sustain itself without adapting to new situations? One can stop a clock's hands from moving, but not the rising and setting of the sun or the change of the seasons after all. As noted too much of either order or chaos leads to destruction as a general rule so they need each other. I think that enough order to keep a stable structure yet enough chaos to allow for changes as needed is a good balance, the key is in achieving that balance. That is just my observation of fiction, but in the context of this show, I think that the original comment is correct. In the end chaos happens and that offers the opportunity to change and grow for better or worse no matter how one is coded originally. And love can indeed lead people to do things that they would possibly never do otherwise. It may seem like these statements are cliche but there is a reason that they persist. That is just my humble opinion of it.

After watching Reboot and growing up, I realized Hex was never a villain, she was someone looking to enjoy life. There were countless times she could have won but in the end she "gracefully" lost. Her near victory with the medusa virus, she was quickly talked out of it simply by saying "Everything will be predictable." I came to the amusing realization that each and every one of Hex's schemes were her attempt at spending time with Bob. This was exemplified when Hex became a sprite. Sure she was still chaotic but she was a nice lady.

And unlike Daemon, she could love, and die for those she cared about...and even see to their future happiness; especially for Little Enzo. When she stepped through the Portal, you could also tell Bob was genuinely devastated. I do think he loved her in his own way, different than he did Dot.

In the end, Hexadecimal died proving that Bob was right. Specifically, that Viruses, regardless of code, can become good. Daemon is "good" & "Pleasant" in her demeanor, where as Hex's code/personality was defined by the "Chaos" that she craved. Reboot is good at showing that codes aren't as rigid as the audience believes. Daemon is the true evil one here, obviously. But Hex changed as the series went on. Otherwise, she wouldn't have wished Dot & Bob a happy future, and she wouldn't have enabled Enzo to keep his father's sentience as a Null. This is something Megabyte understands, but doesn't care about. He's evil, and he loves being evil.

Can we call Daemon evil? She's doing what's she's programed to do. Her curiosity on love shows that maybe she could have change given time. @nickthepick80432 жыл бұрын
@@noangles1564 That is true, regarding Megabyte. I hadn't even thought of that. But as for Daemon, you also have a point, specifically her curiosity on love. However, I'm afraid she's still apathetic towards using others, calling Hex an abomination and outright making her feel worse by rejecting her while under her influence. It's generally considered wrong to do these things, but at the same time, she's layered like everyone else in this show, and that's what makes it great. The writers knew how to personify characters as people instead of playing it cheap.

I don't think I can personally rule out that the ending of The Guardian Code, as much of a cash grab it seemed to be up until the end when they started trying a little more, wasn't a kind of reset button being pushed on the original Mainframe, restoring it to its original code. I think it kind of fits seeing as Enzo was already cloned during the the season 4 ReBoot miniseries. I would hope that everyone would remember what happened to them in the past and make for some very interesting stuff... should ReBoot ever be continued again...

While I do agree, Bob's presence definitely gave her a strong push. The fact that he was the one to explain in clear terms _exactly_ what was on the line was also very important. I agree that Bob's safety wasn't the only factor in her deciding to make the sacrifice, and likely would have done so anyway... but it would have been a harder sell if Bob wasn't around for her to focus on. And given how close they cut it as is, it's entirely possible that without Bob, she may have gone for it, but not quickly enough.
