Excellent video, sir‼️ …. Over past 16 years, I have acquired (6) 3800’s and (1) 4600… all except (1) were cast off parts bikes from locations in my home state of Michigan USA….. It’’s very helpful to have a great video like this …good explanations with good clear video footage …especially helpful for something that I do not do all the time …. Can forget some details . Oh I forgot …the one 3800 that I have was very original and intact running condition…it belonged to my father who bought it in 1962 he was a World War II Air Coros veteran B 29 mechanic and when these came to America , he knew he had to have one sooner or later… Unfortunately he would not sell it to me… but ….I inherited it from him after his passing …I knew I would ..he lived to be 94 and passed away with his intent in his will to see I received this Solex moped . Once again congrats on making this excellent video. . RD

Thanks for sharing RD, lovely story you have there. When I drive my Solex to the postoffice or bakery here in France, I almost every time end up with a small chat with someone who had a Solex when he/she was younger... One of the reasons why I love to ride my Solex' and hope I can pass them on to my children when they grow up :)

@@classicrestoration49 Yes , you're right , it's hard to hear ... You must really take the pump very close to your ear ! . The main thing is that it works !

Hi Classic restoration, I'm rebuilding a fuel pump for a 2000 3800 impex and the glass balls look smaller than yours. The motor is also slower than my other one, same year. Do you think that would cause problems? I think someone rebuilt it with wrong replacement balls.

It could be. The glass balls isn’t expensive, so easy to replace. What about air-filter. Is it clean? And exaust pipe, clean?

@@classicrestoration49 Finished the rebuild of the motor and everything's good now. The carbs intake into the motor is leaking but I know it still has the plastic ring and the connection is probably loose. I think I fixed the power issue, it was probably a dirty carb.
