I owned a '15 Z06/Z07, it was a great car. Sold it earlier this year to buy a ZR1 ZTK, but it was a blast to drive and dead nuts reliable. Your car has the Z07 Package that adds the CC disk brakes, and a Carbon Fiber Aero package. When I bought mine, I had a choice of 2 aero packages, it was all Carbon Fiber and pricey. Z07 adds a lot of other stuff too, you'll have no problem finding the info online. I don't get why the car was totaled, it only has 500 miles on it, the car was over $100k new, and it needed $5k in repairs. Does not make sense.

My cousin buys and resells copart cars. You'd be surprised how much little damage a car will have and it will be written off. Bought a 2016 4 runner with the front bumper cracked and the headlight, and that was all that was wrong with it.

Frame damage I guess. Cost of parts and repair in labor costs would be high. But it does seem like comparatively light damage for a write off. Tells you why our insurance premiums are too high. BTW how do two young duded do it? Rob banks as a side line to fund your addiction? LOL.

Most frame damage cars get totaled because the resale value goes down and the owner can say he doesn’t feel safe to own it even after repairs and get the insurance money

It is said you cannot weld the aluminum frame on the vette and retain oem saftey spec .. So anything touches the frame its a total loss .. There was a beautiful brand new 80 k optioned out grand sport that ran over a tire and cracked the rear aluminum frame exactly 1 inch .. Could easily be repaired .. However Chevy refused citing safety issues and tge car was totalled out .. Its wacky and lucky sometimes with these .. Its so much easier to bend an alum frame then steel frame so you can get alum frame salvage cars with very little damage like this one .. However I'm afraid for the motor . It has a dry sump oiling system . the lines run in the front .. So the car likely lost all oil pressure at some point .. Fingdrs crossed its well ..

Very nice car guys, can't wait to see you fix it, it will be a beast. Get an engine computer so you can change the fuel settings, RPM parameters, timing, etc. You might be able to crank out about 800 - 950 hp easily. I had a 2006 Mustang GT 5.0 and with the computer I got 800hp with 750hp to the rear wheels on the street. And, I didn't have to destroy the engine to get the extra hp. I also changed the rev limiter, but keep it well under red line.
