We are super happy to be working on this build and turning it into something truly unique. We are going to definitely push the limits on this build and have fun with it. Okay, so your limp mode issue could be a variety of things, but I'd first see if your OBD port fuse is okay. Especially if you're having trouble communicating with the DME in the car. If the OBD fuse is fine then, I'd suggest trying just using an OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth Adapter and the Bimmercode app for iOS or Android. Bimmercode is designed to be able to communicate with all of the DMEs/ECUs in the A90 Supra so you should be able to get a successful scan with that. Often times these expensive scanners don't get updated to be able to read the newest ECUs so sometimes a simple Bluetooth Scanner and your phone ends up being a better option because of the updates. If none of that helps figure it out, I would take a close look at the wiring towards the front of the engine bay, there's a possibility that one of the MAF or related engine wires is frayed or torn from the accident and causing the limp mode. @DJT MAGA They don't necessarily take comments into account since they are typically 1-2 episodes ahead due to filming/editing and upload schedule. Pretty standard for youtube creators. Plus, so many meme comments and questions. They'd need to hire another person to sift through comments and bring out the most valuable ones...

Turn on the ignition in the car. For G-Series cars the diagnostic mode has to be activated additionally (press the start button in the car three times in quick succession without pushing the brake or clutch pedal). Ensure that no gear is engaged (selector lever position P for cars with automatic transmission) and that the parking brake is on. Make sure all electrical consumers (lights, heating, ventilation etc.) are turned off.

Once you replace the airbags disconnect both of the battery cables and clamp the ends together leave it for a while like an hour or so and it should drain the residual power out of the system and reset the memory I’ve done this on several vehicles while replacing electronic parts like drive by wire throttle bodies and I didn’t even have to hook a computer to it for an idle relearn it’s worth a shot at least might save the money the dealership would charge. There is something that triggers my OCD: they don't clean the parts BEFORE reinstalling them, so once reinstalled unreachable areas remain dirty ! Also, it is a lot more confortable to work with clean parts.

Hi guys! I think that your scanner communication issue is due to selecting Toyota as Make. There is an option that says “eobe”, which allows you to auto detect the right control module’s make and model. I hope that works for you guys! Remember that the car has been built in a BMW chassis, which could be possible that you may have a BMW control modules. Wish you guys the best!

Yes, but I have one of those scanners and they tend to be annoying when it comes to read the car. It will read the car and codes. But, the security protocols cannot be selected. It has to be selected by the scanner as the most appropriate to the modules. It is not the first time I have seen that, plus the scanner has to be updated and I saw from the footage, that had some updates pending. Maybe that’s way is not going through!

It could be for safety reasons/concerns, that the car is in limp mode because the airbags got blown. It won't allow the car to go into high speeds therefore endangering the driver and passenger. Another cause could also be the bad computer module on the headlight. I hope we get to hear what was not allowing the codes to be cleared.

The battery disconnecting technique method, and can be done by following these steps… Disconnect the car battery cables. Use a wrench to remove the positive and negative cables. Drain any remaining electricity. Press and hold the car horn for about 30 seconds to drain any electricity from the vehicle’s capacitor. Wait to reconnect the battery. You’ll want to wait about 15 minutes for the error codes to be deleted and the engine light to turn off. Once that’s done, you can go ahead and re-install the car battery cables. Can try this way

Fellows, there is this EasyBMWTools software that you can download from the Internet and do pretty much everything on the car (BMW, VW, etc.). You will need a computer (laptop prefer), OBII to USB cable, and install the software. (The software installation can be a hassle sometimes, but there are instructions online.) I set up my buddy computer and he was able to clear all the codes on his E63 BMW and also was able to modify the serial number of a computer module for the driver's window (don't exactly remember the component name, but he got it off eBay from another Bimmer.) and the serial number need to match so the car does not through a check engine light for the mix-match module. The software package is free and brings 5 other software tools for various applications.

Take the battery off for about an hour, close all the doors while you try to log into the system again. Sometimes the pyrofuse will f. with you. I had this on a Mini Cooper before. It does that when it can’t connect to even one of the many CAN connected modules

Hi guys. I love this Supra build. I think the solution for your problem, is using the BMW socket from the big suitcase. I know you said it doesn`t match whit it, but there should be another plug within the engine bay where you can connect it. Same story whit Mercedes benz I had years ago. Try poping open the headlight module. Examine the circuit board for burns or bad solders. Might be able to send it out to a board repair service and fix it good as new on the cheap. If it has a burn you are probably screwed but a bad solder can certainly be fixed

You guys can try using a Bluetooth OBD reader such as a Thor Wifi adapter or one from MHD and use their software to also connect to the DME and read and erase codes, as well as get yourself a nice little tune while your are it right from their software!
