You can clearly hear the misfire. It sounds bad, you guys need to stop driving it until this is figured out. My guess is bent valve or bent rod from oil in the motor after roll over and trying to start it with oil in the cylinder

@@vadim7590may as well not make any comments. What you failed to see is that they have all of it finished. They do not know how to fix the engine issue. Bring that to someone who can. They had V-Tune in to assist with the framework. Now have the Mercedes Tech see if the engine can run right. Stop watching if you cannot be more positive. Now sit in the corner and be quiet.

Did you guys forget that the first house on top of the mountain was only put up as the first owner's granny apartment so he could have a place to move his elderly mom into. His main house was meant to be constructed at a ninety degree angle to that little house and possibly connect via the garage with a walkway. At least that's what you explained to us OGs way back then. You basically turned that lot's tiny one+den/bedroom guest cottage into the sole house on the main (highest) lot. Hopefully, you complete the compound in the future by properly building out that first lot for the parents.

I *would* gladly concede that you likely watched more than I did. I mostly skim through their stuff at 5x speed these last few years, TBH. All I wanted to convey was that I remembered what they told us at the start of that project. I did start viewing the channel very early in an irregular way. I'm not a boasting fan at all - just someone who was around long enough to witness them and their channel evolving. Also, they sometimes stated plans and then never acknowledged them again. Carry on with your pwnage if you must though... I think that's what you jock-riders still call it.

As a German car owner I can say that those solenoids can be a cause of many issues. They may very well be vacuum operated solenoids and you may have a vacuum leak, thus the solenoids are not actuating and causing a lean/rich/timing/fueling/air fuel ratio/etc. not familiar with the G63 but I think that’s a good thing to check. A little hose could have been pinched in the accident and now it leaks air in. Hope this helps! It looks great!

I think that when it was upside down, it kept running for a while and engine oil got up where it shouldn't. I know you don't want to spend thousands of dollars at the dealer, but this engine may need to get sorted. If you can get it done for under 15-20k, it will still be worth it if it can start ripping. Pops is worth it. It's one of you best builds ever. Nothing like German motor vehicles. A high end Cayman should be considered, I had a 987 once and I miss it. Anyways, you have tried nearly everything possible within reason and the limp mode issue needs to be professionally diagnosed. Those wheels are perfect and beyond sick. This one is a keeper.

Engines clearly aren't their expertise yet. That's one of the reasons why I prefer watching Matt Armstrong's channel. Entirely focused on cars. Bringing them back to life, explaining the processes with all of its challenges in detail, and actually driving the cars. The best part: he gives his cars away and doesn't try selling them.

That's what the limp mode is for, it doesn't let you rev it past 3k and it revs slower than normal.

So the codes are related to the VVT (variable valve timing)solenoids. They are electric and hydraulic controlled by engine oil. Have y'all changed the oil? If oil is contaminated, low, dirty, wrong weight, etc any of this can cause these codes, I'd recommend changing oil and filter first and if that doesn't fix, and wiring to them is ok, replace them.

Yeah, what happens is the mercedes cam advance uses oil pressure to push a locking pin. Once that locking pin dosent have the right pressure it dosent engage all the way and it elongates the hole it sets in. Consequently this causes the motor to run with the wrong cam profile. If one bank had this failure and not the other, it will reek havoc on the motor.

Use your scanner ...go to live data.. see and watch the timing. See if it is reading right or no signal.. might be bad cam solenoids causing it to not work on those or possible cam phasers stuck from when it rolled over

It's hard to say that it's a bent valve, the diagnostics from maxicom is very good what you have, check and if it gets spark, you can reverse them between the pistons and if it gives the same error on the piston, you have to check the injectors, don't either one with a problem, the last part is done at the valves, before you disassemble you can check the piston compression test to see if there is a loss of compression! peace from Europe

I’d limit how much y’all run the Mercedes. Check the wiring in the engine bay. One may have been pinched. The cam phaser, sensor, or solenoid could have been damaged when it was wrecked

Hey there Goonzquad Take out all of the spark plugs,inspect ,while you have all of the spark plugs out do a compression test , I would say you should find 1 or more bad spark plugs, this can be caused by lack of spark ,excess oil or gas , also can be caused by bad coils and or other ignition computer controls , go old school and check all spark plugs and compression, your not firing on all spark plugs . If you don't have a compression tester you probably can rent one from the parts store or buy one or collab with someone. Its also possible that you have collapsed or failed lifters , the compression test will help you know where to look next . Keep up the great content . Peace 🙏 Watching from Janesville Wisconsin

The reason to watch this channel is to learn what not to do for and on a vehicle. Lets buy a vehicle we have no business buying and then lets slap the most guotie stuff on it. Lets rip it cause that's all we want to do instead of fixing the actual problems with the vehicle. Not every car needs an Armytrix exhaust that sounds like you got your cat stolen. Then put the most hideous wheels and tires on it before deciding to put a wrap on it just to take it off after 3 months (previous cars). With that being said it's nice to see that you guys finally decided to use your lift to help fix your car.

I love the color and I love how amazing this truck looks. The new rims and tires are the icing and cherry on top of the G-wagon cake. LOL. I agree that the red calipers look better and tie in perfectly with the red on the rim caps. But overall EXCELLENT JOB !!!! I have to admit this build rates up there with TOP 5 AWESOME BUILDS: the Black Challenger, the Black Corvette, the Blue S500, the Blue ZL1-1LE, and the Track Hawk. I can't wait to see the Maroon Ford Diesel truck and the White Ram.

I am assuming the timing chain jumped when it was rolled over, I had a Audi that was rolled over with very similar codes and symptoms as the G wagon, I would check that! Great video!!

The check engine light would be flashing and it probably would more likely be a sparkplugs on a car that's been upside down (but probably fix itself as the engine heated up) but ether way you could smell the exhaust when it first starts before the cats heat up. There is a good chance it's the camshaft position sensor.

Since you own a large piece, find a place to drill a large well and put in your own water system.....looks like you can afford it!

Hey boys :P two things... one, the front camera. (still not connected and calibrated) it can push some codes avoiding the vehicle to recognise things & stuff. secondo, you have a pretty nice machine in your hands! learn how to do some Live Data with your scantool to see what's the matter with cam phasers & actuators, missfires abs and wayyyyy more! you'd save a lot of bucks learning to do live data ;) keep on rocking guys !

I'd definitely say that the engine is out of its timing, maybe a chain guide or something snapped or misaligned in the impact, to be honest it sounds terrible and you will be amazed how dardy (Aussie for awesome) it will sound when you get the timing corrected.

You may have oil wicking in the wiring harness from the solenoids. They are in the front of the engine. A ruined wiring loom will do this.

Solenoid bank 1 and 2, that sounds like a VVT issue, and if that is stuck, then you have a timing issue, hopefully its just the solenoid. If its not the solenoid itself or wireing, well, then you can have chain issues 😞 Looks sick with those wheels 🙂

Unplugging the cam sensor is only gonna make it worse ... anything you do to it needs to be followed by a clear out of all codes with scan tool..

Not true. The mercedes ecu is extremely intuitive. Once the problem Is fixed the computer will recognize that it's working properly and "reset" itself..

Limp mode is usually because of safety or the elevated potential to damage the vehicle. I wonder if that sensor on the windshield not being plugged in triggers the limp mode for safety reasons (?) Other than that, there could have been a delicate sensor that got messed up when it rolled over (?)
