I'm A GM master tech, you need to put back all the original modules for the blue car. The VIN is learned to all the modules and if you swap modules it can actually lock the modules. The reason the car starts and shuts off is because of the Passlock system is not enabling fuel. You can't even use the black cars keys because they are learned to the black cars VIN and are now locked. You need to order 2 new key fobs from the Chevrolet dealer and have them perform an IMMO learn. you will have to tow the car to a dealer or find a tech that will bring a laptop with Techline Connect and a MDI2 to perform the IMMO learn. If you can't salvage the original ECM they may be able to reprogram the black cars ECM to the blue cars VIN.

Yeah you’re 100% correct & I also told them that caming that engine on an already hot engine from the factory was a waste of money and it’s just gonna cause problems later down the road. Why take a couple thousand mile corvette engine that’s not even broke in yet and slap only a bigger lope cam without upgrading the lifters and everything else in the engine to compensate for an oversized cam ? My opinion it’s silly and just wasting an engine that’s already capable of running 200 mph. If they wanted to build an engine they should be doing it to the other engine not this one good one with very low miles. But they’re young and don’t know much about engines and they’ll learn the hard way I guess.

Hey guys I do computer programming for gm , easiest thing to do would be put all the Original stuff back in **modules that you guys swapped** and have someone make you a key for the vehicle Unfortunately most of those computers are vin locked, “meaning you can not reprogram a used one will need to be new. it’ll start but it cuts off due to the security being activated.

I have a fix,,Silverado does the same,,,leave the key on for 20 min till the light goes out, sometimes it takes 3 times, but there is a way to get the sec to relearn the new ecu, btw you new a charger on the battery. I had to go thru all this crap when I put a newer (tuned for more power) ecu in my truck

Gm technician here, you cannot swap modules like that from car to to car especially when they are different trim levels. It sets environmental dtcs they are called when the vehicle recognizes modules have been swapped. All theft has to correspond bt all modules or it will cause a no start like y'all are having. Best recommendentation is to keep all modules in the car that came with the car or your never going to get the car right or all dtcs cleared

They don't need confidence. They have money. If they screw up, they just buy another one. We all know they'll never actually get the car 100% and it will just get parked on the stacker after the first test drive where they pretend it's way faster it's actually is then it'll never be actually used. So it doesn't matter if it breaks in half.

Hey goonzquad my advice from a for tech put the original modules back in only thing the vehicle needs to really start are the pcm( engine computer) and the bcm( body computer) those two can be reset to each other and the VIN is a security feature that keeps the car from starting because it thinks it is being stolen! Id put ot together and take it the gm dealership and have them program two new keys to the car it are if that key that y'all have for the posters far will work if you want to keep it like that you can do a pats parameter reset which teaches the pcm and bcm that they are supposed to work together and verifies the VIN.. but also be fare warned if your swapping modules from one vehicle to another to have to make sure that they for the exact same style of vehicle because one vehicle may have one thing but the other may not have what you need. And then you have to go and try and program those computers to that specific vin and the z51 track package.

I would make sure with GM that the Motor and Transmission is the same. The track package could be different gearing. Also the motor may have a difference. Secondly better make sure the computer is compatible with the swap motor and transmission. Different these day than years past. Stay safe and be well. God bless

1000 times easier to leave all modules in the proper car and get a key programmed. They all have to be coded to each other. The two cars will have different options/features coded etc. Keep up the good work !
