for the 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-4 to work youll need a dlf on support so that the gap in the middle during the build up play can be dealt with. For that to work youd want your inside forward on attack to be cutting in in front of the dominant foot of your dlf and winger on support on the opposite side for crosses. You should also look at inverted wingbacks/fullbacks so that instead of going forward, they will cut inside the midfield and off support in possession.

I've been operating a very similar tactic to yours Jack. I found using a complete forward rather than the advanced forward was stopping the isolation up front as much. I'm never keen on dual playmakers so I just use inside forwards set to narrow and a deep lying playmaker with a central midfielder on defend. Been using complete wing backs on either attack or support depending on how much pressure you expect to be under. I've been struggling to get crosses in as much as previous versions. I'd like to think it's because they've improved defending, but just wanted to see if you've noticed anything similar?

use wingers if wanna whip the ball in, not inside forwards. u put in hit early crosses and used inside fowards which was pretty self contradicting.

I wanted my fullbacks to be the ones whipping in crosses early not the men outwide, the IF and AP had the sit narrower instruction to overload the penalty area where possible.

on FM the championship really is difficult. im coming to the end of a season at Newcastle and I'm genuinely worried about having to do the play offs. be weary of your opponents they can cause upsets...

Luca 47 there was a discount (I think 5% for each copy of Fm youve bought in a row) but thats expired now, theres no premium for buying the beta over the 'full game' though, worth the price if youre into the series and gonna pump a few hundred hours into it.

You can't just play players in their prefered roles and expect them to play better, roles need to work as part of a teams overall tactical system. Changing my lone strike to a poacher would be detrimental to the attacking midfielders making runs off the big man up top leading the play and holding up the ball.
