Do you have a procedure for burnishing parking pads on the RR Sport? I was thinking just set the adjuster firm, not tight, drive 3 k at low speed, then readjust until the wheel spins with light parking break friction. Make sense?
@shaunbava18013 жыл бұрын
Google bodsy's brake bible. It give all the procedures and torque specs for the discovery 3, through 09 the sport should be the same except the super charged, which has bigger brakes.

It's funny how you guys always skip over the most difficult part. It's part's difficult and then it's 10 minutes more forward in the video and it's all done. The beneficial part would be showing how to get the hard things off like when removing the rotor how do you release the drum.

If you you half a brain, the video shows enough. Apparently your not mechanically enclined.

Hi was there a change to the hardware for Disco 2s for the rear brakes. Because anytime I order brakes and need the pad sliders the hardware is now pin boots and bolts not sliders in any kit I have ordered even when they show the sliders as the included hardware and bot the rubber boots and screws for the caliper bracket. If anyone knows if there was an issue using them and they discontinued use. If that is the case what is the replacement method? Graphite or some other protection maybe waxoyl or fluid film or high temp grease?

Hi, I replace the rear rotors and brake pads. Now I cant change the gears from low to high. The green light stays blinking on the dash as if its in the middle of the gear change. The air suspension, terrain response and park brake work. Its just the low to high gear switch. Please help.

How much different is the 2010-2012 L322 5.0 (not supercharged) rear rotor replacement than this?
@atlanticbritishrp6 жыл бұрын
The main difference is that the parking brake on the 2010-2012 L322 non-supercharged is manual instead of electric, so all you have to do is push back against the brake until you have enough room for it to release and then the disassembly and reassembly process is about the same.
@phasetek6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the quick reply!!! 2010 L322 USA version has the EPB (electric Parking brake). I've seen different videos showing different tools (some have a hex bolt securing the disc to the hub, others use T50 torx), some require the thin wrench to hold caliper pins while undoing the bolts, where others seem to use a long allen/hex shaft. I've done pads on my L322, but never removed the rear discs. As far as getting the disc off, I've heard some people say that EPB must be put in retract/service mode, I do have SDD, but not sure if iits an option in there (I know older vehicles had a way to do it by pressing brake pedal 3 times, than holding the parking brake switch), or do you just retract the parking brake using the star adjustment wheel with a screwdriver? Not sure about 2010-2012 L322 as I know there are a lot of differences after MY2009

I've had my Land Rover LR3 2006 since 2008. I'm tight on money right now. For the 1st time I'm going to change the pads myself. I'm simply wondering if I need to bleed the brakes individually or 1 at a time as I change them? Or does bleeding the 1st pads I change bleed them all? Or do I need to only bleed the 1 on the front (the 1st set of pads i change on the front and the 1st on the back bleed them)?
@shaunbava18013 жыл бұрын
If your fluid isn't old you can just bleed a little from each caliper as you do it. If the fluid is 2 or more years old it's best to do a full bleed. Which means sucking as much fluid as you can from the reservoir, refilling with fresh dot 4, starting at the rear passenger side and bleed until you get fresh fluid, then do drivers rear, passengers front, and driver's front. It is just like most other cars. Don't let the system run dry, if it loses prime you'll need to have someone use a computer to bleed the abs system, so make sure the reservoir always has liquid in it, have another person watching it and topping it off while you bleed.
