Lifelong Bucs fan and Pittsburgh native here. You’re spot on this team will NEVER again be competitive under Nutting’s ownership. This is because the business model has nothing to do with winning. The objective is to maximize profits by putting the cheapest (hence, least competitive) team on the field in order to maximize the percentage of profit sharing revenue that lines the pockets of ownership. Consequently - Nutting will NEVER sell this team unless a) a scandal forced him to, or b) the profit sharing arrangement is changed so that this business model is more profitable. Nutting is to the Pirates organization as Putin is to Russia, Chavez was to Venezuela, etc. Abusing a public trust to maximize his own gain. Sad. But good luck!

With all the trades they have made for prospects the Pirates should have a more robust minor league roster. Aside from Reynolds and Eichoff there isn't much to work with. I always use the Pirates for my franchise. I don't sim any games until the team is eliminated and this will be a long frustrating season.

Awesome video. A Pirates fan since the late 80's and a Show fan since '09. Almost exclusively a franchise player but I always think I can play a 162 game season but rarely make it to the trade deadline which is your first stop to improving a team, because I have other games to play. I'm going to try it your way, in about 30 minutes when Game Pass releases the game.

I just started my A’s rebuild, and I guarantee you the A’s are worse. Sure the MLB roster is marginally better, however the prospects you start with are absolute garbage. I think there’s like 2 A potential players and less than 10 B potential players. The 1B, LF, RF are disgustingly bad, same with SP and RP. Barely gotten through the first year right now and yeah it’s going to be rough. It would be a miracle to finish over 500 by the end of year 3
