The core support cam be taken apart and put back together with bolts. By turning the lower core support bracket (U-channel) around, it cam be used for either the 6 cyl. or the 8 cyl. radiator. Back in the 60's my brother removed only the upper bracket in order to R&R the engine while the U shaped part stayed in the car. It required less bolts to be fiddled with and was faster. Just replace the spot welds with bolts. The factory was shrews and interchanged parts as much as design would allow.

Great video Dan! I always appreciate the tech articles much like the "Tech Help" articles that the club did back in the day in their magazine. I also appreciate the rare item or ID parts portions you do too! Take care and happy 4th to you and the family!

Cool Video Dan! What is your body number on your hardtop, less then 1000. I had a hardtop built in Baltimore and the body number was 849 and it had them little trim holes on the dash. 55 Hardtop is the only car ive ever seen have them! You'll be a 1000 subs before you know it. Keep jamming out the video's. Catch you later 👍

the 57 had a huge difference that the 55 56 in racing nascar did not true they had the 283 buy also had a big one that has gone unnoticed the 57 unlike the 55 and 6 as well as all the other cars had the radiator farther back from the front bumpers of all the other cars and could take a hit up front and retain a functining radiator everything else would spring a leak and thus overheat the 57s actually won a few extra races from that they 57 is the winningest car in nascar history and also won the manufacturer title all three years they were allowed in the convertible races all three could out handle everything out there vetts and t birds as well
