I don’t now about other players; but if I switch my avatar to the new bean it glitches my hat and hair. It pushes my afro farther back making it look like my avatar has a Ksi Forehead, and it moves my hat into my hair as if my hair isn’t even there.

So, what I'm getting here is that Rec Room is in sort of a "developmental" stage where there isn't much actual work being done to fix current issues, bring back beloved features, take community feedback into consideration. It's more of developing the rooms 2.0 stuff to set them up for the future, so that they can push all of these problems to the side until they're done with whatever they're doing right now, and THEN they can get down to it and fix all that stuff. I think the real community is being very honest, blatant, and transparent with whatever they feel like needs to happen, and none of this is being acknowledged properly. You can tell us directly that you don't care about our concerns and are doing whatever the heck you want, that's fine, SAY that then, tell us what's going on, don't sit there and lie to us saying that you're listening to us when you clearly aren't! It's YOUR game, you can do what you want with it, but if you're wanting community feedback, you can't just deflect every question you get asked. Also, I don't know what kind of NDA you signed, but it seems like you can't reveal any details about anything. You say that there isn't enough money, there aren't enough employees, the servers can't handle it, etc. but you don't provide ANY further details! It gets to a point where we don't know if we can trust anything you're saying. You're ripping the old game apart, and I really want to stand by Rec Room with every decision they make, but it's getting so bad lately that I don't even want to play the game anymore. All the old features that made the game fun were removed, so it's just a shell of what it once was. It's really disappointing. I also hate the work being done with the "new" bean; it sucks. If I have to use that or full body avatar, the game will be unplayable for me. I can't stand the way those avatars move and interact. I felt extremely disappointed hearing that they want the old bean gone. It is the perfect model for a game like this, it's worked just fine for years, there was no reason in tampering with it.

Question Order: 1. The slop content IS universally agreed upon in the recroom game community that there needs to either be consequences, or restrictions. Just because you don't priortize it, you could at least do SOMETHING. Sure, the reccomended tab changed the feed a little bit, but it didn't change the pubilicity of the content in it. Im glad they added at least a POLICY but only 80 rooms acted on? I get the game isnt as big as it used to be, but doesnt that seem like KIND OF a low number to anyone else? The 13 creators, depending on how big they were, is a decent number though. 2. This is a very good response, im happy with this question :D I just wish they warned the players ahead of time though, its like removing the weekly with no big warning. 3. that's my question - i meant specifically the velocity of projectiles. I would think it would be super easy for them to add a velocity slider in the configure settings. as is, the weapons fire like pb weapons so you can't really make an aim trainer that works for rec royale. And goddamn I wish they would go back and optimize the map so we could have copies of it :')

The new beacon feature is amazing in concept, but the fact that it uses the functionality of point-and-click is icky. Some issues i have with it are; it gets spammed alot, i see people use all 3 or however many of their beacons in one place, then they aren't able to use it more while they wait for the cooldown. Also i myself have had some troubles with telling where a beacon *would* be placed, as some objects have unusual collision or are decorstional when you didn't expect them to be, and the finger laser pointer on its own doesn't well indicate this. It has replaced the quick and easy point-and-click feature for opening people's profiles by clicking their bodies which is incredibly annoying. It's so much harder to view people's bio or report them or add them when they're moving, you have to chase them down with the laser now that it's been changed to point and click-hold rather than just point and click. Swap 'em back, that would fix all of this. Beacons would be less spammable if you had to hold-click where you wanted to place one, you'd have a moment to see where a beacon is *going* to be placed, and we'll once again be able to easily just click on a player to open their profile which should never have been changed as it is incredibly important.

I understand the difficulties of testing three avatar systems, but why continue to create a new bean then? I feel many people are happy with the old model? I don't mean to make this sound harsh, but it feels like there isn't any learning from previous changes, like switching from the 3D UI to the 2D UI which seems to still be a major problem with people.

Honestly if they remove the old bean I will stop playing competitive and playing less in general. Sure the cosmetic side is amazing but in game it’s really bad. For example I play dodgeball and catching is just horrible and just my personal opinion the new beans don’t look good, I like the original design. I don’t like how the hands show when you grab things (adds another hitbox) and in general it’s not good in game and doesn’t look good in my opinion.

Saying there are no “universally agreed-upon issues” feels like a cop-out when problems like spam rooms, low-quality UGC cash grabs, and exploitative practices have been repeatedly brought up by the community for years. As someone who used to thrive on Rec Room’s creative tools, even reaching the top 50 most-subscribed creators back when the subscriber leaderboard was in its infancy, it’s heartbreaking to see how the creator economy has drained the passion from the platform. It’s no longer about making something inspiring or pushing creative boundaries-it’s about making quick cash. The devs don’t even seem to acknowledge how this shift has gutted the spirit of the game. The removal of weekly challenges is just another nail in the coffin. The devs admit it was a beloved feature but have no concrete plans to replace it. Instead, they’re doubling down on room progression and monetization, which feels like yet another way to prioritize profits over player satisfaction. The charm and sense of community that weekly challenges brought are just… gone. Even the split tests, which are supposed to improve the game, come off as mishandled. Players can’t opt out or even see what tests they’re in, and suggestions to make the process more transparent are brushed off as “too complicated.” It’s frustrating and alienating, especially for a game that claims to prioritize its community. And then there’s the rec center-once the vibrant heart of Rec Room, now reduced to a bland storefront. Instead of acknowledging the creativity that’s been lost, the devs talk about frame rate and technical limitations, deferring any real improvements to some vague future date. It’s emblematic of the larger problem: Rec Room has lost its soul, and the devs seem unwilling or unable to face that truth. What hurts the most is that I still talk to some of the friends I made on Rec Room. I still remember the magic this game once had. My old account, is still out there, and maybe one day I’ll log back in to see what’s become of it. But every AMA like this makes me feel like that day is farther away. Rec Room used to be a place where creativity and community thrived. Now, it’s just a hollow shell of what it once was. It’s sad to see how far it’s fallen.

I don’t understand this hate towards Gribbly and the team at Rec Room. Yes, some changes were made that I disagree with [Weekly Challenges being removed, Some Aspects of the 2D UI Watch], but, there are also reasons for a majority of changes to the game that people just ignore. A few of these changes, such as the UI, and the Bean Avatar Updates, have been added for a very significant reason. You guys act like Rec Room 2 years ago was all peachy; but last I remember, people were Crashing constantly because of Quest’s poor memory management on Rec Room. These changes are good, and I don’t want to hear you all be so ignorant, like you “claim” that Rec Room does.
