Everyone loves a good "kicked out of the party" storyline but my biggest problem with Beast Tamer is he was essentially halfassing throughout his time in the party. He's able to form contracts with high level beasts and monsters and gain powers from it but not only does he not use his abilities until he's forced to but it is implied he was aware that he at least had the potential yet never even tried. Imagine a guy with a dagger he uses poorly suddenly revealing he's a bowman capable of bullseyeing targets and splitting arrow shafts, that's the best way to describe this story at least from my POV. Banished from the Hero's Party gave us an MC who's seemingly unknown skills are unknown for a good reason. It's ironic that the Beast Tamer is kicked out because he doesn't carry his weight and interestingly the charge isn't entirely incorrect he is capable of doing much more yet never even thought to try until he was booted.

to be fair to him, his village was destroyed when he was young by the demon's in this story, him being the only survivor, but even so the people who lived in that village trained and refined the craft of beast tamer to be able to do way beyond what normal beast tamers can, that's why Rein didn't think himself special...and I don't know if he becomes aware of that. Also, the village's formation had ties to the legendary hero, was formed by a branch family or something, so Rein also has the potential to become a hero in place of his former leader...but he doesn't, however someone else does take the place of his former leader...after he goes abit too far trying to get Rein back beyond what he's already pulled.

he was always used as a weakling so he thought he is one. its a mental issue of sort. people expierence this also. maybe he didn't even knew he could tame anything like that. i highly doubt someone who knows this wouldn't use it. he was just so bullied to the point where he seemed himself as a weakling.
