My choice of actors would as follows Simran - Sanya Malhotra Raj - Dev Patel as I want Raj to have proper British accent. Bawuji- Ranit Roy Mother - Kshitee jog Here sister will be replaced by brother - Rohit saraf who wants be a musician but constantly dictated by father that one day he will have to take over their shop Kuldeep - Ayushman Khurana Pop - Manoj Bajpeyi Buya -Shefali Shah and whenever pop and buya meet the bgm would play sapno me milta hai Preeti - Fatima Sana Shaikh Rocky - Kunal Nayyar

Abbas’ choices are all over the place, age-wise. It’s hilarious. Screw it, just age-swap all the roles, too. (Or cast SRK and Kajol in the Amrish Puri and Farida Jalal roles, just for the meta-hilarity. Or here’s another idea: replace London with, like, New Jersey-where I grew up-and cast Hindi/Urdu-speaking American actors-e.g. Hasan Minhaj or Kumail Nanjiani as Raj. It always bothered me that Raj and Simran don’t have British accents.)

I feel like Simran is the most difficult to recast. Alia, deepika, kriti all have a certain traditionally model beauty look and so they would be an uninteresting choice inspite of the acting skills. Kajol as Simran brought something rebellious to the traditional good girl that was written in the script(it's said in The romantics how Kajol didn't like simran that was in the script at all as she was so obedient). Kajol was young, she had a distinct look(extremely important), her boisterous personality seeped into the character of simran and I feel that is what makes the couple of Simran and Raj a charming couple.

Absolutely loved this episode. I probably would go with Snahil's casting the most. Abbas ka castinh toh all over the place tha. But that was funny too. Silveries casting felt like "too obvious".

Sanya Malhotra is actually can really ace anything from being bubbly girl to badass strong girl to simple shy girl to girl next door she hold so much potential many (who has seen both of their work closely ) would pic her any day over Deepika Padukone.
