Want to know how to receive an IP address from a remote DHCP Server? In this video I cover exactly how to acheive this by configuring the a DHCP relay agent on my Juniper device. This relay agent also reffered to as an IP helper address allows a devices to recevie DHCP discover messages from locally connected clients and forward them via unicast to a remote DHCP server.
Note: crutial to get this work there must be end-to-end IP connectivity
Commands used in the video:
set forwarding-options dhcp-relay server-group DHCP-RELAY 10.0.1.1
set forwarding-options dhcp-relay active-server-group DHCP-RELAY
set forwarding-options dhcp-relay group all interface irb.20

I was looking for this to convert Dell Force10 FTOS config to Juniper JunOS. IP Helper command was much easier in other vendors. 😂

Good content. I am running a lab now on eve-ng and using vQFX (RE & PFE). I have connected 3 routers to the RE and simulating to block DHCP from R1 to R2. Can you please help and only make sure static IP works. This is to completely block dhcps

sure thing, take a look at this video where I share how to restrict access to certain ports on Juniper. If the goal is to block DHCP you'd want to restrict protocol udp ports 67 & 68. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXrRfn6AlLNlgKs
