Here are my thoughts on the 5 candidates with their ADP Zay Flowers WR26 - Lamar Jackson has only once supported a 1000-yard WR. He has never had a WR get double digit TDs. Jordan Addison WR40 - He is in a bad position. Rookie QB or a bad veteran and a possible suspension. He also will have Jefferson sucking up all the targets Jayden Reed WR35 - There are four other good WRs, two good receiving TEs and two good receiving RBs (I am assuming Lloyd will be a good receiving RB). That is just far too much target competition and no clear pecking order. Rashee Rice WR36 - Who knows how long his suspension will be. If it is short I like him as an option, but if it is four games plus, I am probably passing on him Tank Dell WR30 - He would be the clear-cut option to draft if not for the arrival of Stefon Diggs. There is a lot of target competition here, but it isn't as bad as Green Bay and Dell is the cheapest of the three Texans WRs.

@@drabengamez1013 On a points per game basis Rashee Rice likely will be top 20, but for the whole season, he probably won't. Tank Dell might get there, but we really have no idea what the pecking order in Houston will be. As far as picking a Texans receiver, Dell is the best bet because he is the cheapest and it is wide open right now who the number one will be. I think it will likely be a reasonably even split among three receivers the way Jacksonville was in 2022. Jayden Reed is in the same boat as Dell, but there are four WRs and four other offenses weapons to soak up targets. Even If Zay Flowers cracks the top 24, it won't be by much. The best WR finish with Lamar Jackson is WR23. I simply don't see Jordan Addison getting there with Justin Jefferson soaking up targets in the offense and a bad QB situation.

I'll argue and say that Tank Dell is a great option if he drops to you at a round or two later because CJ LOVES him as a WR. He will make sure to him the ball and can realistically support all three wide receivers on the team. If you watched the Texans last year, their problem was a lack of a third option because the TE's are used more for blocking and non on the roster have that Kittle level talent to be viable. Thus three legit WRs is actually fine, you just need to be comfortable with taking one you like to watch ball. For me, it's Dell.

@@onthelow415 Of course Tank Dell would be a great option if he drops a round or two, most players become a great deal if they start dropping down the draft board. I even consider Dell to be the best draft option in Houston this year. Targets will be an issue in Houston, however. Houston’s top targeted receivers last year: Nico Collins at 109 targets Dalton Schultz at 88 targets Tank Dell at 75 targets Robert Woods at 75 targets Where are the targets going to come from? I do expect Robert Woods to lose most of his targets and Shultz likely loses some too, but even looking at that list you only have 347 total targets and all of those guys are back and they added Stefon Diggs.

I understand why you’re hesitant, but Tank Dell was the 10th best receiver in the league according to ESPN analytics and the 15th best according to PFF last year. He has elite separation and is just a great wide receiver. Size doesn’t matter as much when you can just run away from corners. He’s a great WR on a great team, and if he doesn’t work out this year then I will eat crow.

@@grantbrown6502 Diggs might have lost a step at the back half of last season. He had a rough stretch of games. And I think Tank Dell can potentially be the 1b to Nico Collins. It’s definitely not a guarantee, but I have Dell ranked over Diggs this season. You assuming that you know the pecking order for certain is a mistake. If you think Diggs will be better than Dell, then by all means draft him, but we don’t know how it’s going to play out.

From what I've seen, the first 3 rounds are really a crap shoot due to A TON of unkowns (different teamates, new team, new systems, post-injuries, etc). This year's leagues will be won with mid-late round picks. It's not as exciting, but just know that the waiver wire will be hot this year

Im curious if fantasy points per target (with a minimum target#) would provide any useful data that might support predicting a JXN breakout. I don't know if there's a strong correlation between that stat and overall fantasy production, but seems like there could be. (Also not sure if that stat actually favors JXN just ya know, grabbing at straws haha.) Thanks for the video, you've 100% got me pumping the brakes on JXN. And gonna be looking into picking up Addison in dynasty, too. Those comps for him are wild.

There is so much that happened with JSN rookie year that I can't help but just throw it out. I understand people will say they are excuses, but they are also facts. JSN broken wrist in preseason lingered first 6+ weeks (wore a wrist cast) and didn't get in game reps with Geno because of it. First game of the season, Seattle loses both starting OT's and QB pressure is a problem all year. Week 4 vs NYG, Geno Smith gets hip dropped tackled and doesn't really look right again really until week 15. Ken Walker oblique injury mid season removes rushing game threat mid/late season. Seattle offense with Shane Waldron ran the fewest number of offensive plays in the entire NFL. Shane Waldron offense also used JSN as a shallow depth of target type guy when that really is not what his profile told us he was elite at. Multiple TD's lost due to PI in the end zone (I understand many receivers also have this). All that being said, I'm all in on Seattle offense bounce back in 2024 with Grubb. The issue with Tank Dell is that he is going before guys like George Pickins, Amari Cooper, Christain Kirk and Diontae Johnson, all of whom will be the alpha receivers in their offense. Tank Dell has so many weapons around him that he could struggle to get targets.

Interesting to me how people freak out about tank being 165ish at 5’10”, but don’t even blink an eye at Jordan Addison weighing 177 at 6’1”. It’s about bmi not just weight alone. A lineman fell on tank’s leg in a blocking play. He got unlucky. Would’ve broken anyone’s leg. Don’t think that proves he’s going to be injury prone.

Flowers is a Y receiver, he catches plenty of shorter passes and gets lots of targets, so thats not an issue. TD production is waaaaay more of a red flag, dude had 1 TD over the first 11 weeks. It’s no secret that in the redzone they’re gonna prioritize andrews and lamar’s legs. I think he still is a solid breakout candidate, but I wouldnt reach for him

I did this trade based off wanting Kincaid more than McBride. This is strictly only gut feeling trade. My WR core is so strong that I think I can afford to give up London based off the unknown if he will produce top 12 WR potential.
