Yes! David's introduction made me squeal with glee. I too plan to dive headfirst into cozy and escapists worlds for the sake of my mental health.

I get the feeling mental health is going to be a consideration in booktube's reading all round this year. Hope yours does well in the new year, but cozy reading is good regardless mental healthy or not!

Glad you got to read so much cozy fantasy! I've seen the cover of The Spellshop around, so nice to hear that you liked that one. I'll see if I can borrow a copy from my library.

All the cozy vibes were definitely what I've been needing! I think there was some amount of stuff I had to set aside my brain for a bit with the Spellshop, like the anti-city/rural sentiments being somewhat strong, but if you can do that I think it is just really fantastic cozy fantasy to get swept up in. Merry Christmas!

Quaint Creatures sounds great! Have you read Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell yet? Not exactly a cozy but it is middle grade fantasy, with excellent writing and awesome creatues! The Spellshop sounds good but it's got such a long line so it'll be months before I can get to it.😢 I'm curious about LitRPG and recently purchased Dungeon Crawler Carl which seems quite popular. Have you read it?

Impossible Creatures I'm in a huge line for, I think 15 weeks hold remaining after several, but I suppose that means it should come in about time for my RWYO to finish up. Spellshop was about the same, massive line and my whole book club all trying to get it from the same library mostly (someone was able to snag a large print, and another got a playaway audio much faster than the regular holds luckily), I had only a couple weeks left, but was at the worst of dealing with foster cat and just decided it was what I needed at the moment and snagged the ebook on a whim and read it in like 2 days 🤣 I haven't read Dungeon Crawler Carl, but it sure has been everywhere! I'm glad to see LitRPG picking up because I do enjoy it a ton, but I would say a disproportionate amount does have a lot of toxic dude stuff or male gaze as real heavy elements, so it can be a bit wading thru sludge for gems at times, though lost of it can be got very cheap or free so not much risk to try and dnf if it is that. I've heard DCC has a very very minor bit of that, but I think probably on par with average dudely fantasy most likely.

@@ReadBecca I hope you love it once you get ahold of it. I just checked and I have 8 weeks left for The Spellshop. I'm not much of a video gamer but I have played board games and D & D so I'm hoping to really enjoy LitRPG. Hopefully not too much misogyny or I'll have to DNF it. What is your favorite LitRPG?
