“Life is short and precious and i don’t want to spend it reading nonsense.” LOVE IT! 😆 And you’re gonna love the AGG movies! They’re some of my all time faves that i have to revisit every now and then. I only ever read the first two books, so I just trust that the third movie matches everything in the books just the same lol

I also LOVE the movies and I’ve read all 8 of the Anne books… so not to disappoint you but the third movie doesn’t really follow the books at all. You can see where they took inspiration from the later books but the movie kinda has its own plot. I enjoyed it regardless. Definitely recommend reading the whole series 😉

Your view on womanhood and femininity is so refreshing! Most younger women today don’t share this view anymore unfortunately, but I admire that you are standing up for how God made each sex unique with our individual strengths and weaknesses. ❤

Your take on things is so refreshing in this space!! LOVE everything you said about womanhood and the addition we are to our husbands in our separate roles. Also I think you helped me make up my mind about whether to give Cruel Prince a try. I’m not a romance girly typically but I do love the high fantasy of LOTR and the magical realism of Harry Potter with all my heart. Otherwise, I haven’t read much fantasy but am determined to find another fantasy series that I can fall into. It has been difficult because of all the “modern” twists on things or simply just how crowded the space is at the moment so everything is just fantasy for fantasy’s sake. Like you said, it’s all the construction material of a fantasy without any of the story or description. So it ends up sounding like “There were fairies. He went on a quest. This is a magical place!” Anyway!! All this to say, you’re helping me along my own quest to find the fantasy that grips me! I’m not giving up 😂

hahaha I love this 😆 finding good fantasy is a struggle these days!! i realllllly wanna read HP this year (i've never read it!), but am afraid of the backlash i know i'll get from other believers. but i do love the realism as well just like you said! & yesssss definitely check out that Elisabeth Elliot book if you haven't!
@robynne21222 ай бұрын
@@harmshoney totally understandable!! It’s a touchy one. The defense I usually use is there’s some dark sorcery in the LOTR too! Saruman uses incantations to cause that storm. And Gandalf is the good guy but uses magic to battle the Balrog who is essentially an underworld demon haha but you won’t meet many Christians who are against both HP and Tolkien! Also Harry Potter is heavy with some of the most beautiful Christian symbolisms! The themes of love triumphing evil and sacrifice ahhhhh so good. I’m reading my first Elliot at the moment and will add that to the list. Thanks!
@harmshoney2 ай бұрын
yessss exactly!! it's like believers are okay with books about witches & wizards by Tolkien & Lewis but no one else? 😅 J.K. Rowling is also a Christian & definitely put tons of allegories in HP! Frank Turek is a pastor who came out with a book called "Hollywood Heroes", I haven't read it yet, but it's all about the Christian allegories in popular stories including HP, Marvel, Star Wars, LOTR, etc. perspective is huge!! thank you so much for being here 🖤🖤

Cruel prince is definitely not romantasy. It’s a political/court fantasy with a romance subplot. It’s not for everyone but I enjoyed it! 😅

Always love watching your book reviews ! I appreciate that you typically have different reads than other book channels, too. Plus, not many book channels have similar interests/morals, and it helps a lot to weigh the popular books if I'd actually like them, lol! Half a Soul sounds like such a great read !! 📚 I was hesitant on the cruel prince, and I'm so glad I saw this before making the commitment, lol!! ✨️✨️✨️✨️

✨I just found your channel and want to thank you for being so open about your convictions and discernment in reading. It’s inspiring to me to find fellow Christians who have a desire to read wholesome books. I’m so glad you read Anne of Green Gables! I had the same opinion about the Netflix series- but definitely give the old movies a watch, I grew up with them & loved them even before I read the books🫶🏻

It's good to see you back with another "book" video. Another thing we have in common. I read all of the time. Well, when I don't have other things that need to be taken care of. My husband and I used to go to the Irish Festival every year, when we lived in the metro. I have a few items that I purchased while there. We went to Ireland many years ago and I have many things that we bought while there and had shipped home. It is a wonderful experience. We haven't been back since we've moved here, but I have some health issues that would make it not as pleasant for me as it used to be. I enjoyed your reviews of these books. I have to admit I have not read Anne of Green Gables either. It is now in my Amazon cart. (and yes, the weather has been beautiful - low humidity is a blessing) I tried leaving an emoji but failed. Be assured I watched to the end.

Yay, a new video! Your hair looks really cute! You might like the series The Secrets of Ormdale, the first book is Wormwood Abbey by Christina Baehr, it’s cozy Christian fantasy. I also finished Man of Shadows & Mist which I gave 5 stars. I read The Cruel Prince years ago, just the first book and I think I gave it four or five stars and I don’t really read fantasy at all but I remember liking it. I tried to read the second one, I was bored. 😂 I’m sure I’ll comment more as I just started your video🎉

I’ve been wanting to read Let Me Be A Woman for a while! I agree with what you’ve said about The Cruel Prince and didn’t continue the series after the first book. The Anne series is one of my absolute favorites and Little Women is another charming classic that is easy and fun to read. Daughter of the Pirate King is a clean fantasy pirate story that I read years ago and it’s a duology so that may be a worth a try! 😄

You are darling! I just found your channel and this is the first video of yours I have watched! It is WONDERFUL and you are just a lovely bright light speaking truth with passion and kindness! I am now subscribed and can't wait to go back and watch your earlier videos! And the quote from Elizabeth Elliott about the snoring...oh my goodness...hit me hard. I am a widow...my husband passed away in September 2021 at the age of 52 and I miss him terribly! And yes the snoring... or also in my case...I use to get upset because he would take off his pants before bed and leave them in a pile for the night on the floor at the end of the bed and I would always trip on them in the middle of the night when I had to go to the bathroom. Oh what I would give to see those pants one more time on the floor! I thank God every day for my husband...our life together...and for the reunion we will have one day! You stick to your values girl! Speak it! It is refreshing to see that on KZbin and is definitely needed and there is an audience for it! You go girl! You have a new fan in me!

I was looking for a christian who reviewed the cruel prince so I would know if it was good and I'm glad a christian finally touched on it so I know that I am definitely not reading this. I'm super new to fantasy/fiction reading, I have only read narnia and reedeming love which are both christian and if I do read secular books I want them to atleast be good.

Your thoughts on the Cruel Prince are my thoughts exactly. I just want a fan. It was just okay and nothing to write home about. I also hate when the real world is brought into fiction stories. We get enough politics shoved in our face in our daily lives. I agree books should provide an escape. 🫶
