I love all of you makes and am very impressed that you’re keeping up with all of your cut out projects! I have been on a mission to make a good pair of pants this fall/winter and have found that I have to do a “full seat adjustment” on many of my McCalls or Simplicity patterns. There are a lot of good tutorials out there. The way I’ve had most success with is taking my crotch measurements and then comparing it to the pattern. Usually I need to add about an inch or two wedge in the bum area. Another helpful hint I learned is to cut your waist band out a little longer than the size you might need. That way you have a little more length to play with if you need it. Happy sewing! 💖

Is it possible to reduce the seam allowance in the plaid dress? A 1/4 of an inch all around would give you a ton of breathing room.

That’s a great suggestion! I reduced the seam allowance to 1/2” and was nervous to slim down any further because the fabric is a soft cotton and since I don’t know how to use my serger and couldn’t do a French seam without using more width, I wasn’t confident that the seams wouldn’t rip while wearing so I didn’t sew any closer to the edge 😬

There were two last month- the first for NC that I’m aware of. There’s Raleigh Frocktails and Charlotte Frocktails. Both of which have an Instagram page which is where I kept up with the events. I hope that helps 😊

Because I have a family of 5 and laundry is a daunting task that I only do every two weeks. I shared pictures and/or videos of me wearing each make which is far more helpful for the viewer than me holding the makes up in the air. I think I did well not having all of the makes in my hand. Thanks for your feedback 😊
