Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious infectious disease that continues to pose a significant public health threat, with millions of new cases reported every year. Despite progress in the prevention and treatment of TB, there is still a need for ongoing research and advancements in the management of this disease.
Here are some of the recent updates in the management of TB:
New diagnostic tools: Advances in diagnostic technology have led to the development of rapid and more accurate diagnostic tests for TB, including molecular tests that can detect TB in as little as two hours. These new diagnostic tools can help improve the speed and accuracy of TB diagnosis and reduce the risk of misdiagnosis.
Shortened treatment regimens: The standard TB treatment regimen traditionally lasted 6-9 months, but recent studies have shown that shorter treatment regimens, such as 4-month regimens, can be highly effective and result in improved treatment outcomes and reduced risk of drug-resistant TB.
New TB drugs: Several new TB drugs have been developed in recent years, and many are now available for use in the treatment of drug-resistant TB. These new drugs have the potential to improve treatment outcomes, reduce treatment time, and reduce the risk of developing drug-resistant TB.
Telemedicine and mobile health technology: Advances in telemedicine and mobile health technology have the potential to improve the delivery of TB care and support patients throughout the treatment process. Telemedicine and mobile health technology can be used to support remote monitoring, improve adherence to treatment regimens, and provide education and support to patients.

In weight band , number of tablets means the number of daily consumption of drug ?

The tablets are of fixed dose combination, no of tablet means how many the patient should take per day.

If fluoroquinolone resistance is there than no point in using drugs of that group.

Of course, if all drugs of same class have same mechanism of action hence all the drugs of same class will be useless
