There is a reason why you find great numbers of Bread albums in charity shops....I stopped donating any excess vinyl I bought at auction when I realised a lot of those establishments have a so-called 'expert',or person that values vinyl via Discogs and when something a bit tasty comes along it's appropriated never to see the charity shop shelves!!Incredible String Band,English 'folkies' who implausibly actually played at Woodstock!!
@thevinylvault3 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments. I would imagine you are right about the charity shops.

Definately correct started about 20 years ago, Record Dealers come in & get first dibs round the back 😜 Plus other fiddles as you might imagine .. You'll never find a gold label Beatles PPM or torquoise led Zeppelin on the shelves these days that's for certain

I know it’s not records but i always donated my children’s clothes to the charity shop a lot still new or worn once and i too found out they were keeping them and selling any designer bits for themselves. 😡

That's a nice haul of records for a fiver there. The Incredible String Band album I would do some research on those, as I know some of their albums are quite rare, so you might be able to get a good price for that. Tom Paxton was a folk singer who was playing the same circuit as Dylan in New York in the early 60's and he did make some really good folk/protest albums. Those Elkie Brooks Pearls albums are worth a spin, a great vocalist, who used to be in the band Vinegar Joe with Robert Palmer back in the mid 70's..

A few good ones there. If you didn't know, KTel used to be a big name in the 70s. That and Ronco. Besides records, they used to male small electrical items. The vintage version of JML. My visit is via Beatle Dave.

Odd, I've done that twice, NEVER AGAIN! Both times I bought cheep "lots" it was nothing but scratched up, torn up, TRASH. My experience is it's just a scam to get rid of inventory that nobody in their right mind would willingly trade anything of value for. But of course, your mileage may vary.
@timcollins980025 күн бұрын
He does sure get bargains in those bag lots A lot of the records i see at boot fairs ,are either well scratched up,or crap artists like these S.Whitman ,J.Reeves,James last .J.Denver and loads of Classical

Wee Tam is one of my favourite albums and I think ISBs best record. I would wager that is the US version, as in the UK the album was released as a double along with The Big Huge. I have a mono original of the UK version with inverted sleeve ie the lyrics are actually printed on the outside of the album jacket. Bargain for £5.

The only thing you do not look at is the condition of the record itself,which some might say is the only realy important factor.
@thevinylvault4 ай бұрын
That is a fair point however, I mainly only buy VG+ or better. Sometimes in a job lot I have to take some that may not be VG+ so I give those to charity to help them raise a few pennies. All the best.
