3:18 - If I may suggest, Genesis has 3 other great records of the Peter Gabriel era that are well worth checking out, 'Nursery Cryme' (1971), 'Foxtrot' (1972), and 'Selling England By The Pound'.

2:50 Oh, how neat. I recently gave my daughter "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" on vinyl. I have my doubts that she'll ever listen to it, though.

♥Roxy Music! If you don't have Avalon, that one is my other favorite. Really happy to see you picked up that Blue Train reissue. I heard they did a fantastic job mastering that.

Graham Parker & the Rumor were a great bar ban back in the late 70's. Howlin' Wind & Heat Treatment are two of his earliest. I saw him back in the 70's and last time I saw him was a solo show in 2019 touring the 40th anniversary of Squeezing Out Sparks. There are countless live solo and with many different bands in his catalog. I have over 32 titles from Graham Parker, mostly on cd. enjoy

It’s great to see you diving into Genesis , Roxy Music and Graham Parker . For Graham Parker , I would recommend picking up Squeezing Out Sparks , Heat Treatment , & Stick to Me . For Roxy , pick up Stranded and Country Life , if you haven’t already . Also try Genesis’ Selling England by the Pound , A Trick of the Tail , Foxtrot , & Wind and Wuthering . Cheers !

Hi Sam, great video with a diverse bunch of albums! If you really find yourself digging Blue Train, may I suggest a few others from his vast discography? Giant Steps 1960, My Favorite Things 1961, Coltrane's Sound 1964, Live At Birdland 1964 and A Love Supreme 1965 which is highly regarded as his masterpiece. I'm not sure if you have any of those. Happy listening! Rob

Love Alice In Chains and and Roxy Music. You remind me of my best friend in High School. She was so into music and it was a perfect match for me because I love music. To this day I haven’t found a friend who is that intensely into music in the same way I am. All those records is just heaven to me 💕💕💕

Happy Sunday, Sam. I never knew Boris took their name from a Melvins song! I went to Athens, GA on Friday to see The Melvins and by coincidence I traveled there with a friend I made at the Boris show in 2019. Another coincidence: my hair is the same shade of blue as yours! I haven't recieved the OFF! cassette I pre-ordered yet. I'm gonna have to check on that since it came out on Sept 30. Have a good week.

Close To The Edge is the cut-off in Yes's discography for me, though I might revisit Going For The One. The first two Roxy Music albums are brilliant. Graham Parker's Squeezing Out Sparks is a must have. Nice haul, Sam.

Close to the Edge is a classic - it really is just a bunch of songs they recorded in sections and stuck together, but some guy did a full analysis of the lyrics and it was quite deep, philosophical, biblical references - but I think he was overanalyzing it. Graham Parker - I have been listening to him a bit lately - mostly pub rock with a new wave feel - go for Squeezing out Sparks or Stick to Me, both can usually be found for $5 and is his best.

I’m going to be another to recommend Squeezing Out Sparks by Graham Parker and the Rumor. I saw Starcrawler in 2019 , Arrow is most definitely a performer you can’t take your eyes off of . I like their second album and have heard Roadkill and 1 other song from the new lp. You’ve got me curious as to what the rest of the new album sounds like.

I used to say Boris is my favorite rock band of all time cause they can do everything and their music and live presentations are so addictive and electrifying. Got a bunch of vinyl and CD's some years ago, everything I could get by them at a nice price. Now their albums are impossible to find and buy. It sucks they have so many cause you would never be able to get'em all, they are like Frank Zappa or King Gizzard. Good to see you are getting into prog, not my favorite genre, but it is so fun getting the discographies of all those 70's bands cause, except for Pink Floyd and King Crimson, you still can get em kinda cheap.

I'd love to get a copy of that Coltrane reissue, problem is I can't get one to my doorstep for under $120aud. And I won't ever pay that for any album, not even a grail.

Have you heard any Queen Adreena? Starcrawler feel very Queen Adreena to me, which is both good and bad for me, as I love QA, but am wary of something that cleaves as close? Should really give them a try!

Oh, two of my all-time fave LPs are Graham Parker's "Howlin' Wind" and "Heat Treatment". Here's a track : "Turned Up Too Late" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep-yXpaLgK13mqM Yes, the "Frogs / Sprouts" album is by his backing band at the time. Best Wishes from London

Hi Sam 🌞 ! Some classic Prog with The Lamb ( Chamber Of 32 Doors is my favorite track ) & Close To The Edge ( And You & I is my favorite track ) Check out Squeezing Out Sparks by G Parker .. probably pretty easy to find & top notch. Hey David! Thanks for the Graham Parker suggestion, that seems to be a popular pick from his discography. I've heard through the grapevine that they're planning to do re-issues of most of AIC albums and I really hope Jar Of Flies is next!

Aloha Sam, You sure purchase a lot in the last 2 weeks! You must have a hugh amount of 45rpm's, since you started collecting them . Those VCLT's , Yes & Genesis are cool record albums. I need to start listening to Roxy Music again, not sure if I still have any of their record albums around anymore.... , maybe "Country Life" from 1974. That Starcrawler, I bought myself a copy from their website on White Vinyl, I also ordered one from Amazon because Amazon was advertising Pink Vinyl, but when I received it , the record album was black Vinyl , so I called Amazon, and Amazon said they will send me another copy. When I receive it it was black again, so Amazon gave me a refund, now I have 2 open copies on black Vinyl, which of course was free from Amazon. I'm curious where did you buy your Pink Vinyl of Starcrawler from ? Looking forward to seeing your next video. Mahalo Ed

Hey Sam. Been following for some time now, this is the first time commenting. Cool pick ups, very diverse. 🙂 Love that you got both Coltrane and AIC. Razorlight were the most hyped band over here in Europe when "In The Morning" and the seltitled album came out in 2006. "In The Morning" is a very catchy song. I saw OFF! live once, very energetic. Take care / Jacob (Denmark)

I heard 90s DJs used to get 10-15 of the hot indie promos and trade in 14 of them on actual records they wanted. Pure rumour, I never did it myself, or at least didn’t get caught

Everyone has their favourite member of The Beatles! Mine is JohnPaulGeorgeRingo. I know there are lots of folk out there who mourn the loss of Peter Gabriel from Genesis....but....would we have ever had the superb tracks like Games Without Frontiers and Solsbury Hill if he’d stayed with them? As much as I like Roxy Music, when considering Ferry, I cannot help recalling his ill-advised comments regarding an admiration for the aesthetics of a certain political party or his son’s protest against the banning of fox hunting....
