Whatever I can say about Nick, they at least treated the comic book arm of the franchise like a comic book series instead of a monolith of 1980's nostalgia. They know the Turtles have an adult fanbase that prefer them to be like the original comics in tone, and that's why we even got The Last Ronin (which the movie is based on). Any "adult" Spongebob product would inevitably just devolve into basically the same show but with lame "adult" jokes shoehorned in.

Has anyone ever thought about how weird lost media is going to be for Gen Alpha kids? So often a piece of media being searched for starts with the story, “I saw this weird thing on TV when I was a kid,” and it turns out to be some Russian cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon once in the 90s or something. But Gen Alpha is going to eventually grow up and start posting, “I saw some weird disturbing KZbin video once,” and it’ll be something posted on an account that no longer exists, and no archives of it. There’ll be so much of that that will never be found.

I have been to several film festivals where they showed movies that don't have a home media release but still have 35mm film prints, and they all look like that. If somebody recorded some Fat Albert footage in the 70s on an 8mm or Super 8mm camera, and they didn’t take care of it over time and just threw it in an attic, that is what will happen.

The boondocks is my all time favorite Adult Swim series, it's honestly so weird to think the Boondocks almost aired on Fox of all channels. Personally I like the pilot art style a bit more than the final art style of the series

I was there at the Orange County Fair for Al's Brain in 3D! I was 12 at the time and a huge Weird Al fan, so my parents made sure that we went to see it. I don't remember all that much about, outside of one part that you actually showed in this vid. The 3D render of the brain while Weird Al sings "The totally awesome corpus callosum!". Weird to think that we were some of the few people to ever see it until this year.

it's probably been ~10 years since I first head about uncensored sailor mouth. it's one of those pieces of lost media that i always assumed would be locked in some impenetrable archive forever, or if it ever did leak or get released it would be decades later, after everyone stopped caring or after spongebob was long out of production. this + EKT being found and now the og backrooms image being sourced is just wild. if JTK source image gets found next I will lose my mind.

There will be some short clip on a discord server and they'll claim the full episode is coming soon. And conveniently, it will probably be put up online for all to see _during_ the premiere of the final episode. Just to pull attention away from it.

I used to watch the boondocks way too young. I remember when I was a teen and heard the theme song as my uncle's ringtone. He asked me if I ever watched the show after jamming to it. I quickly lied and said no because I didn't want to get in trouble. I did watch the pilot (after it was found) and it wasn't bad. I really do think that uncensored sailor mouth clip was legit. I've said it before but it's the simple fact that the swear word wasn't the F word but something more tame. So many fakes had some harsh swear words instead, something you'd expect. I'm glad the courage pilot was found (didn't know it existed)

Turn On wasn't before Do Not Adjust Your Set. The was a prerunner to Monty Python. Someone found live footage of the no wave band Mars. Even fromer band members didn't know the footage existed. This is the holy grail of no wave recordings. I was super excited to see it. Hopefully, it will be released to the public soon.

There was basically no music with profanity and it was basically impossible to make a movie over a PG rating until the late 60's when the Hayes Code was dropped.
