It seems like it would be an insulation problem above that light, but, did you ever come up with a solution?

Andy Mackay in all spots where flex duct or duct board plenum was below blown in insulation there was condensation I found it all over the place and there were no air leaks craziest thing ever I ended up taking closed cell foam to all of the duct board

Did you ever find out what the problem was?

KatyushaRockets condensation forming on ductwork that made contact with the light fixture in the attic. Turns out I had this problem in many areas of the house

By any chance this house is down in the south ? I’m in south Florida and on my top floor I have this mildew problem staining around my low profile led lights. I’m thinking it might be as a result of the lights not being sealed with a caulking and the cold air from inside the house catching that gap in the light seal and condensing when meeting the warm attic air

I have the exact same problem with recessed light in my kitchen.. trying to figure out why!🥺

@@stargazer7361 for me it was the quality of the lights; for whatever reason condensation built up inside them rather easily but when I replaced them with some high end LG brands the issue went away.

@@KatyushaRockets thank you for the info… I will definitely try that. We were told by an AC repairman that it was due to insulation being removed from around some of the ducting by a rat, so we had all ducting rewrapped. That has done nothing to help the problem.
