@@chapmanscanada It was heavenly! I blended fresh strawberries to make the puree, as the recipe suggested, and substituted buttermilk with 2% milk + 1/4 tbsp lemon juice. The cake smelled amazing out of the oven, and after sitting in the freezer with the ice cream on top it developed a dense and moist texture while retaining its softness. My only regret is not using a darker chocolate; I used 40% but I think 60% would have been the ideal balance for my palate. I intend to revisit the recipe in future with a different flavour of ice cream. I'm thinking black cherry would compliment it well. Thanks for this recipe and the others on your website. I appreciate that they are approachable for my baking level and use ingredients that are easy to find or substitute.
