I love this video. I didn’t want to laminate every page so instead I put a clear sheet of heavy acetate that I punched with my Arc punch in the front. When I use a recipe I put that clear page in front of my recipe page so the page doesn’t get messy. Easy to clean the acetate page and my recipe stays pretty. Hope that makes sense. Love my instant pot too!

I didn't know I needed this until I saw this video. I started a travelers notebook insert for recipes but didn't use bc I hated flipping through to find what I was looking for bc it isn't sectioned. Then I started putting recipes in my bullet journal, but I had I flip through a lot and when I move to a new notebook, I lose them. This will be great! Michaels has the big box kit for $20.99 this week. I'm getting one tomorrow!!

I loved the story about your mom's cookie recipe. We all know how important family recipes are. We really all need to gather our family cooks together and pick their brains for the Family Favorites, so the recipes can be compiled and passed down, as they should.🤗 I'm sad that I can't find the HP Recipe Planner. I'll just have to construct my own!👍🏻

WARNING.......long post coming up!!!!😏😘😏👌 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video! Thank you so much for giving me ideas on using the Recipe Planner!! I bought my recipe planner back in January and I love it. I have been adding the new recipes we try, and love, to the recipe planner. I have been a recipe collector since I was a Home Economics major in high school and college. (I was actually the Memphis Betty Crocker Homemaker of the Year 2 years in High School.) But when I got married and Hubby was an amazing, gourmet style, cook he did the new and interesting cooking and I did the basic Southern Style (yes, cooking with bacon grease, and lots of butter and fried stuff. And don't get me started on mushy, cooked to death veggies.). Over the past 41 years, my cooking style has changed drastically and has gotten much more healthy. I have five 8 1/2 by 11 handwritten cookbooks, one from my Mama for Christmas 38 years ago! It has been so hard to remember where I got the recipe, and which cookbook it was in. So I usually just went on,one to AllRecipes.com or EatingWell.com, the healthy sister to the All Recipes, and found something quickly when I was menu planning for the next 2 weeks. When I saw the HP Recipe book I snatched it up, it was the only one!! I have been gradually putting in our favorites (I like the "Matthew Approved" so I think I may "borrow" that tag and make stickers myself, and use them on Michaels fav recipes. I really love the menu planning pages and having the grocery list right there on another page, side by side, because I check for ingredients on hand as I plan and it is convenient. I got in a rush last week used a list page because I was in a hurry and just jotted down 5 recipes for this week and an actual single column list to the store. It took me for ever to get it done because there was no order by category, for the list. I found myself backtracking a lot. Never again. I will use this HP list. I take the Menu Planner and list and put it in my HP that goes with me always, so it is there when o go to the store without taking two planners with me!! I mark off what I have in the cart with a highlighter so I can read the grocery list if I get lazy and just use the same weekly menus in the future, then I already have a head start on my list. (If I'm feeling creative, I. Color code the recipe to the ingredients on my list! I know a bit of OCD coming out!!! LOL. The pages go back in the Recipe planner when I get home. I love the instructions like cook time and special instructions on the right hand size. I never even thought about using alternating inks to make the recipe page more Interesting!!! You mentioned your recipies and planner get splatter and dirty. I hated that, although the more splatters, the more we like the recipe and the more we apparently cook it!! LOL. Plus I have a a very small, empty nesters kitchen, and no place to put the open planner. I solved my problem but putting a pretty cork board (I just used large cork squares clued to a piece of foam board, decorated it and attached it to my kitchen cabinet near the stove. I take the recipe out of the book and slip it into a plastic organizing sleeve, and tack it to my "Recipe Board" so it is at eye level and is easy to see and stays clean on the sleeve. I cut the three ring part of the sleeve off because my cabinet is a bit narrow and that took up too much room. So Easy Peasy, a cute kitchen decor and and easy to use recipe! I also keep a sheet from a small vertical shopping pad tacked to the edge of the board for those things like curry you use up, then forgot to add to the list in the other room, then I add those things to my main list in the HP Recipe book. Hubby is bad about using the last of something and not telling me, but this, with a pen, is very handy!!! This fixed that. Again... Thanks so much for is very hard to find type of video!

I have a plastic cover I throw on top of my recipe books when I cook. I use to have a plastic thing I could have my book open in and it would hold it up and open and protect but haven't found another one it. Love your recipe book idea. Just got into planning, looks like I have found a new adventure

Loved this video! I liked seeing you fill it out, because I've always wondered how you fill the space so well in all of your planners! I love the idea of the recipe planner but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to fit all of the steps in because that would just be my luck plus I'm so not a frequent cook and I would need every little step written down. Lol.

I love your PWM videos and I had a great idea for your recipe book! I saw someone get the $1 clear cutting mats from Dollar Tree and use them as HP covers but I cut them for my HP recipe book and you can move them around so that when you turn to the recipe you want you put one underneath so the paper doesn’t get dirty if you set it on something and then you put the other on top of the recipe you’re looking at, you can see through it so you can still see your recipe but if you spill on it you can just wipe it off! I love it! I works awesome!! And it costs $1!! Let me know if you try it or have any questions!

And, I think that a crock pot is just as good as an InstaPot. For those of us who have a crock pot, I don't think we need to be throwing them out and trying to spend extra money on something else, when we already have something that will do the job. I know that you didn't say that or imply that, but from what you were saying about the InstaPot is just came across to me as you putting down a CrockPot. I absolutely love mine and I am learning how to actually cool, so it is has come in handy for me.
@kellofaplan7 жыл бұрын
No where in this video did I hate on the crockpot. In fact, I have FIVE crockpots. Before discovering the Instant Pot, the Crockpot was my best friend. But since I"m a teacher, I would have to start my meals at 6:30 in the morning and they would cook ALL DAY for twelve hours- until I got home to eat at 6:30 at night. The chicken was always dry and the crockpot makes everything taste the same. Again, I am NOT hating on it. I still use mine, just not as often. With the Instant Pot, I can have a meal ready in 30 minutes. The meat is AMAZING- it's never dry and always flavorful. Also, I NEVER said to go throw your crockpot out OR spend extra money that you don't have. Nope, never. This video is about a recipe planner, NOT an instant pot. It just happened to be the recipe I was writing down when filming this video. I trust that the people who are watching are grown enough to decide for themselves if they can afford something or not. The only reason I even included the link to the Instant Pot was because I KNEW people would ask about it. Again, this video is not about the Crock Pot vs. the Instant Pot. it's about how to decorate your recipe planner. Thanks!
@savingxmex7 жыл бұрын
Whoa! Before coming at me, please read over the part of my comment where I said, "I know that you didn't say that or imply that," because I still stand by that part of my comment and I meant that in the nicest most sincere way possible. I don't feel as if the CrockPot makes everything taste the same. I don't know what recipes you are using, but all of the ones that I've tried so far have been pretty amazing. Again, I wasn't trying to imply that you HAD actually implied or said that, I was just simply stating how it came across to me as a person. It's all about perception. I think it's fantastic if people love the InstaPot, in fact I actually thought about buying one at the time that I was buying my CrockPot and didn't have the money for it at the time so I ended up going with the CrockPot and have been happy with it. Again, not saying that you aren't, also I respect the fact that you are a teacher and I'm thankful that there are more people out there trying to make a difference in the education of children. There's not enough that actually truly care about what they're doing anymore, because of the shoddy way that they've been treated and the low pay grade they get. I thought it was about the CrockPot vs the InstaPot, because you kept talking about it as well as the recipe that you were writing down. Usually I enjoy all of your videos that you put out and I binge want them constantly and get all kinds of ideas from you. So, I never meant to come off as rude towards you, I was just explaining how it sort of came across to me. So, I apologize if it offended you in any way.

I actually use my Instant Pot as a crockpot most days. I like to use the liners for easy clean up LOL. I had a separate crockpot as well, but gave it to my SIL because it was HUGE and we didn't need it anymore.
