Half an hour ago I wondered what I could make for breakfast tomorrow that is slightly different from my usual sausage and egg muffin. I had bought 4 brioche burger buns from a well-known discount supermarket, so why not a brioche bun filled with bacon and, for a change, scrambled egg? That's when I turned to KZbin as I always do when I try something new. I even have a punnet of cherry tomatoes! So, you've got the recipe, I've got the ingredients, let's get cooking. Tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

I always put a few dabs of butter in my scrambled eggs to keep the curd soft because it helps moderate the heat and adds a tonne of flavour, and I don't add salt until the very end because it draws out the water from the eggs and makes the proteins constrict more. But the sandwich is lovely, Donal.

1950’s people ALWAYS kept the bacon fat! 😉 I use nonstick tin foil under the bacon. Even if it gets to the bottom of the pan, it is a much easier clean-up! I don’t like wasting money but a few splurges are worth it.

Donal, please don't keep your pan handles sticking outward on the stove top. If your young children grab at the handle, or someone accidentally bumps into it, someone could get scalded. I'm loving your videos, though. :-)

Unpopular opinion: Toasting the buns does nothing for flavor or texture
@jlammetje4 жыл бұрын
I know. Toasted bun is great, until you put something moist on top (like a burger, cheesy scrambled egg, tomatoes). The toasty texture melts away.

Yep. Yep... so she's done a good job with being in my head when I see handles sticking out from the stove 🙈

Just have spicy food 2 weeks on the trot. That’s how long it would take to get used to the chilly. After that youre gonna love what the chillies do to you. Also eat chilly in the summer instead of winter. Hot weather suits spicy food. Most hot countries love chilly
@zoecharlotte14304 жыл бұрын
@@sghu11 yeah that will put me in hospital .... I have a mild allergy to chillies. So no it's not a case of getting used to it for most people

Ok, I am not going to get hysterical about the buns....but my momma bear freaked out with the handle of that hot tomato skillet facing out! DONEL, You should always turn your pan handles side on, especially if you have small children so they don’t go and grab the handle and tip whatever is cooking all over their face and head.
@nokoolaid4 жыл бұрын
I put aluminum foil on the baking pan for bacon and use a little water too. Easier clean up and the bacon won't cook as unevenly, it just comes out better. As far as scrambled eggs, yeah, a lot of folks don't use enough butter or at all.
