yes, I did it myself as a way to get confident with reciprocal frames. I never had the time/occasion to make to grow from its current "demo" status to something really useful: it just visualizes the structure and gives you measures/angles for each pillar, but it does not export 3d models and/or templates to feed to a cnc machine. if you're still interested I'll put it online; if you end up using it, just let me know about your creation :)

Hi, I did not spend a lot of time on it, so it gives you dimensions and angles for the beams, but I did not calculate notches precisely: it would be really easy to integrate this functionality calculating the collision volumes between the beams. One day or another I hope to have the time to go back to this thing :)

I am quite sure plenty of people would really be interested...we are on a project testing the structural strength with different amount of members...Am just sick of calculating the angled and dimensions all the time... so was so happy to see your program :)

I can imagine :) If you want to test the demo yourself, or if you want to improve it, the source code link is in one of the other comments. To transform it into a useful tool, I'd love to make a modern, portable version (Js/WebGL probably) with the possibility to import/export beam data and a 3d model export feature.

Hi, this demo lets you fiddle with one of the parameters (number of legs, base/top diameter, leg thickness) and automatically adjusts the others; since it was a personal study, it does not have export features. If you are interested in trying and/or expanding it, just send me a private message with your email and I'll send you the software.

Ciao Enrico, scusa se ti disturbo ancora. Alla fine avrei risolto per quanto riguarda la trigonometria relativa al contatto tra le aste. A questo punto.. ti scoccerebbe passarmi il codice del programma che hai fatto? E'davvero molto intuitivo, mi piacerebber giocherellarci. Grazie ancora Davide

ciao, ti passo il link per mp; è un'idea grezza sketchata in Processing un po' di tempo fa: per giocherellare va benissimo (l'ho scritto proprio per abbozzare un piccolo progetto da giardini), ma manca la possibilità di esportare. se uno di questi weekend ho un po' di tempo ne faccio una versione JS/HTML5 da lasciare online :)

@@Johann757 unfortunately I didn't. Old site is down and backup disks are in a different country. As soon as me or my wife will travel to our home country I'll look into the dusty hard drives and notify you guys with an updated link

Io mi sto cimentando più semplicemente nel disegnare un reciprocal frame sul CAD ma non riesco a venire a capo del problema del contatto tra le aste.
