Microsoft really pulled the biggest flex ever doing a deal like this. All of a sudden, the relationship between Square Enix and Microsoft got "repaired" to the point the Square Enix president went on stage and proclaimed that all current and future Final Fantasy games would be available on Xbox day one and timed exclusives are over (they also announced FF7 remake and rebirth exclusivity is ending on May 29, 2024 so expect the Xbox version to finally be released at that point, with the third and final game to be released on all platforms day one) companies that seemed intent on only doing business with Sony are now extra cozy with Microsoft now. And in one fell swoop, they now have 23 first party studios compared to Sony. You can tell Sega is next on Microsoft 's list

In my honest opinion, this deal is about to set the gaming industry into a different direction. Microsoft could make it completely exclusive or they could share them whilst taking a cut. Either way this is really beginning to show how developers have to either work for one company or both

Phil will treat this the same way he treated the Bethesda deal. If there are contractual agreements then he will allow those games on PlayStation. The rest will be exclusive to Xbox except for COD. I think COD will stay on PlayStation being that it’s PlayStation’s #1 selling game.

you know both things can be true at the same time right? why buy an xbox one last generation when basically all the games on it can be played on the ps5, plus ps5 has it's own games. waste of money. but at the same time, you can believe exclusives are bad for gamers.

@@rich1051414 no. that's not how this works. i mean technically yes, but no. if you wanted to play god of war before it came to pc, or say spider-man, you had to buy a ps4, and now a ps5. just because you wanted to play those gamed does not mean you agree with the idea of exclusives.

To be completely fair Sony has nurtured talent and partnered with smaller companies to help them grow and create more and more competition. MS just buys everybody else's good stuff to get out of a hole and doesn't really create anything new.

@@simpleecasual7138 Generally when Sony does it they have invested time and money in to the company that they do it with, so there is reasoning behind it, the devs get a huge boon and Sony gets exclusivity, otherwise money they paid to help the company would benefit MS or other platforms more, which would be counter productive for Sony. That's not to say it is right when either side does it, just that often when Sony does it there is more to it. Also MS started with the paid for timed exclusives, then people get angry when Sony does it and does it more effectively. Sony nurturing and helping smaller game companies benefits consumers, MS buying out huge companies doesn't.

People keep saying Crash was a Playstation Mascot but Sony has never owned Crash Bandicoot, Universal did. Sure they used him in ads but they used Lara Croft too. With the exception of the PSone, Crash Bandicoot has been Multiplatform for over 20 year's. Anyone upset about it needed to get over it 20 year's ago.

So.....3 games for the upcoming generation and a technology that no one else is getting into after all the VR games of the PS4 kind of flopped? Sure. PlayStation 5 is doing great. Absolutely. Wonderful. With all their big games coming out also coming out on PS4 and PS4 continuing production. Sony certainly believes in generations all right.

Yeah but you could realistically beat all those games in one week… what are you going to do with the other 51 weeks in the year… oh sorry they don’t release every year umm what will you do with the other 4years and 51 weeks until they release another sequel…..sequel….sequel… they need more multiplayer games then just GT something you can stayed invested in like forza that game is one beautiful game and just dope. You can have hours upon hours years upon years you can play that game until the next one comes out.

The games just wind up there anyway, so I don’t hold allegiance to any company. So I’ll say it again, just say you’re not interested in it. I know I’m not too interested in it anymore. I’ll maybe play it sometime. But “nobody cares” is weird way to get validation for your opinion, even though I kind of agree that this generation of exclusives is pretty uninspiring.
