Thats a really cool mock city/distribution display you have. Where is it, and do you guys use it for training purposes (employees/schools/tradesmen) or marketing/sales? Either way it was a really impressive display that belongs in a science museum or some similar educational venue.

Just goes to show Eaton makes lots of money to build exhibits like this. Demos like this can be done less expensively anywhere lines training is done.

Is it against the law for an HMI to have a GUI that doesn't look like garbage? Useless smartphone apps look far more sophisticated. It's like buying a car with trash bag upholstery. I do appreciate this video, however.

Simple is much better than pretty when it comes to SCADA control systems.

@@robertwilson8184 It's not a zero-sum game, though. UX design is its own career, in the same manner a cardiologist is a specialist. They exist for good reason.

@@moahnassagreed. It should be relatively simple but my company’s SCADA UX doesn’t even have a mimic search so you have to manually rifle through the index to find your site, whose name may not follow any logic so has no definite index position. Just why? (The trace and trend view DOES have a search feature by site #, so this makes even less sense…)
