If my memory serves me right I used the bipod with a medium range scope way back in the playtests and it was a laser then, seems like they still kept the quite big nerd on the bipod for the m249 :(

Something to note about vertical recoil in this game: It has a lot of randomness, so you can't really control it as well as you can in other games. Guns with high vertical recoil will bounce on and off target no matter how well you compensate, so the vertical grip and tactical barrel are really good most of the time. Only a few guns really benefit from horizontal recoil control, like maybe the SCAR-H or AK-15.

i think they should reduce the first shot kick for most guns and increase the sustained fire recoil to balance that change. there is no reason why single shot firemode should be harder to control than full auto fire. in actual military engagements 90% of fire is done in single shots or bursts, full auto is mostly for suppressive fire. also IRL suppressors decrease recoil, increase muzzle velocity and accuracy. this is because a longer barrel directs the bullet more accurately than a short one and gives the gasses that propel the bullet more time to compress and launch the bullet faster. as well as the added weight of the suppressor counters the recoil force as those forces have to work against the heavier gun barrel. i would say suppressors should increase accuracy and decrease recoil, but in turn a heavier gun would take longer to aim down the sight and decrease movement speed.

I really wish this game had some kind of recoil reset. using marksman rifles is very painful, I can only shoot 3 shots before I run out of mouse pad and have to pick my hand up which is obviously terrible in a gunfight

Vertical grip is one of the better options I found, and mix and match barrel to find something that works, no attachment starts for those guns are rough though

@@BIGBodsta 100% agree. The grips help a lot. I also played with iron sights in the beginning and played it almost like an smg to get attachments fast. Recoil doesn't matter when you shoot them point blank lol. That being said, I feel like dmrs could still use a buff. The ARs can pretty much do everything a dmr can and has access to full auto. DMRs don't really have a place rn which sucks. Also it is great to see content creators interact with their community, keep up the great videos and you will go far man. Good luck out there!

Something about the general recoil/bloom balance at the moment is a bit... off; it is absolutely punishing to anyone who hasn't mastered the "tricks", but seems to be exploitable enough that it's practically non-existent for more experienced players. This screws with the tactical balance of the game, quite severely - meaning that firefights are usually a straight contest between those who can land a burst of accurate hits and insta-kill someone, and those who... can't. Terrain and overall fight configuration are almost irrelevant - you can't reliably suppress the enemy, because someone who has mastered the recoil will effectively play marksman with an SMG. That being said, upcoming patch notes mentioned hit box changes. Maybe that'll help. Personally, I would like to see the different categories of gun enforce their relative range/combat roles a bit more. Makes the fights more varied and interesting; at the moment, the game leans a bit towards "Railgun is the only gun" Quake antics.

Think it just gives advantage to more skilled players. SMGs do have a decent damage drop off over range which is good

SMGs > rifles due to the game's mobility; the small time to kill means most encounters are about hits per second, not particularly about the power of those hits, until you get a weapon that can literally one-shot someone. I think the main problem with the recoil itself is the fact that "skill" negates the recoil, rather than mitigating it. The recoil isn't just supposed to be a skill filter - it's supposed to be a core gameplay mechanic that applies a specific set of rules and limitations, in order to ensure that the weapons serve their purpose and role - as gameplay elements, not just as mimicry of reality. If tugging down on the mouse and having the "correct" mouse sensitivity settings can effectively switch off recoil, then this is, to put it more simply, an exploit - just as doing a weird sideways jump or repeatedly picking up an item you're standing on can negate gravity in certain games. Or, to be more old-school, like sticking a bit of tape on your monitor so that you have a crosshair on weapons that aren't supposed to have them, because the developer neglected to change the actual spread when not scoped. If there was at least a bit of recoil reset, then the act of countering the recoil by pulling down would at least be balanced by the fact that after any sustained fire, you'd be staring at your feet. As it stands however, the combat pattern this particular design choice creates is - and this is the real issue - one that may harm the long-term appeal of the game. For one thing, it is very much responsible for a lot of perceived "cheating"; an average player struggles to land even 1 hit on a target at medium range, then gets burst-killed in under a second, repeatedly? They're gonna think about pressing the report button.

The ak15 has been my preference since launch, I keep coming back to it! Sure you have to wrangle the gun more, but the high damage profile combined with the much better damage drop off compared to most other ar's means I can use it like a dmr at the ranges where big bursts aren't all that effective regardless. Like sure its easier to get more shots on target with the m4 at range, but at those ranges where that becomes difficult enough to really hinder the ak15 the m4 has dropped off enough for it to perform worse in regards to DPS and is significantly hindered with following up on multiple targets

If you were a competitive pubg player then you should feel very comfortable knowing that the devs have put a vertical sensitivity multiplier on here too! I was really happy to see this and instantly jumped on it, pubg had a high recoil too and by abusing this we are able to beam enemies even 100 meters away once you get use to it.

Try out the S D N-6 barrel, it is equal horizontal recoil but +3 vertical. In trade you get much higher accuracy and higher velocity as well.

so heres a tip if your having a real hard time with recoil while aiming down sights, adjust your ingame sensitivity cause it might be bugged. It felt so restricted and literally changing it from 1.00 to 1.01 made a world of difference, even reducing it to 0.95 i had more free flow control over the recoil. (yes i could aim sharper with less sensitivity) So yea your game might literally just be bugged and you might need to just click somewhere anywhere on the sensetivity to break out of the bug. No more using 8in of vertical mousepad to manage the recoil on an m4 that fires 10 bullets lol

BattleBit is awesome, but I don’t like how most games insist on perpetuating the myth that suppressors increase recoil and decrease accuracy… It’s actually the inverse in both cases (obviously to varying degrees depending on the quality of the weapon/suppressor and the materials they are comprised of, the workmanship on requisite parts/modifications, choice of ammunition, etc.). I understand that in the context of gaming it is done for balancing purposes and/or other considerations, but there are other avenues to arrive at the same destination. The time required to shoulder the weapon from low ready could be increased, weapon sway could be intensified or even a “fatigue meter” to convey the 2 pound object screwed to the muzzle so as the meter fills/empties (whichever indicates atrophy of efficacy to whoever is reading this) accuracy decreases. I apologize for the lengthy comment, I’ll be honest, I’m super stoned and started typing. Great video though!

Both good questions, I’m just happy they didn’t go down the path of silencers reducing damage which seems to be the most common in video games. The mag is just for game balance as well. Seeing big mags have such a power ^

Hello big bodsta, im a newbie to the game (and games like Battlefield) and i've watched a few of your videos. I appreciate them all! Ive been using the ak74 with tactical barrel and vertical grip as a comfort pick as they both reduce recoil of the gun. I'm wondering if its still a good gun even though its not a 3 hit kill on normal armour anymore. I really like the versatility of the gun with its single fire mode being able to moderately snipe people.

Try the Heavy Barrel on it with the Vert Grip, it doesn’t change the recoil by much, and gives the weapon more damage. I’ve been running it with the Slip sight but Low Zoom sights should work too

@@BIGBodsta well I adjusted the 1x and it helped marginally, corresponding with the increase in sensitivity i put in. Maybe I just suck at recoil compensation, but this is the first game I actually struggle with, because the recoil is so high

Tips for this game: Have everything unlocked grind up[ against cheaters and max level folks to farm kills for unlocks or just out right cheat. The game is trash.

This take is pretty L, seeing you can unlock one of the strongest weapons at level 15. I have over 250 hours of game time and haven’t encountered a cheater once.
