Zup Tom. Yes, lighting is an extremely under-prepared skill. Whether its a WML or a handheld, value can't be overstated.

I'm northpaw-dominant but I've trained myself to _always_ handle my torch with my left hand. It's too convenient to leave the dominant side free to do whatever, and not just in self-defence scenarios either. It's come in useful during a number of power outages.
