Great job! Scraper is a good tool for stripping paint, but you might want to try heat gun and putty knife on latex. Less work and if the paint is right it will peel off easily from wood pores.

Again, a high-end piece. Love this one. Fun to watch you fiddle with the paint removal. Only thing I would have done differently is I would have replaced the broken handle end with a wood, but that's just me. I love the finished product. Another win, Emily.

I am happy to share 😊 The coffee stirrers are useful for mixing small batches or smaller products to. Cheaper than the popsicle sticks I normally buy and have only one primary use.

This turned out great! I'm currently working on a MCM buffet that has 2 layers of paint-and sometimes 3 in certain areas. I've scraped, stripped, and used nylon and brass bristled brushes. It's really time consuming, yet rewarding! I was dismayed when I discovered the inside was painted as well! That's gonna take some time. 😄

When you are done take time to look at any before pictures you took. Especially if you're spending a long time on something, its hard to realize just how much you've changed the piece. The end result will be worth it though! Thank you Katie! 😊

STUNNING restoration/transformation, Emily! I mean WOW. And the amount of work you put into removing the layers of paint and repairs definitely paid off. It’s hard to believe it’s even the same piece. One thing I certainly do not miss about Florida (I’m from Miami but been in Dallas for 23yrs) is the humidity! I get whiny when we get above 70% in the summer here. People ask me about the heat in Texas all the time, but I’ll take a couple of months of upper 90s/100 degrees (the humidity is like 20% when it gets this hot) over 80-90% humidity anytime. And bonus, we got an Emily poem! Thank you for sharing this with us.💜

Thank you Ashley! I grew up with snow so I try to remind myself at least I can feel my hands lol. The high listing on my thermometer was I believe 89%, which is the most humid its been in the garage overall. I try to run the dehumifier in there before I head down to work on temperature sensative things, but then its hot. Always something!
