I thought this is only natural. Winter may start as early as November and may end as early as March. And heavy snowfall are expected.

I suggest using the term climate change. Global warming is a very narrow term, many places will get colder due to climate change, not hotter; for instance Europe who is currently being kept warm by the Gulf Stream. However once ice melts too much the sodium level in the sea will be diluted so that the Gulf Stream dies out and can't carry heat from the equator to the north anymore.
