My partner and I are both applying for jobs in Aus. We're not moving for the money (we'll be about the same due to higher cost of living) - we're moving for the job security. We both work in the public service and we've both survived two restructures. But there'll definitely be more under this government, and we've seen so many people lose their jobs. Good friends have been fired, and they've struggled to find anything. And we can't just change employers either - the whole sector is facing this.

When your paying $5.99 for 375gm Mainland Butter in Aus, and $11.99 in NZ I dont blame them.

I'm leaving early next year. Wanted to leave after haka was done in parliament, what a JOKE 😅. How embarrassing as a nation to have parliament turn into a clown 🤡 show.

Why would u not move here . U live a happy life don’t have to stress because of the crap that goes on back home .present and past governments have designed the system back home to suit them and kiwi people are not copping with the basics of living and supporting yr families . The options for things here are amazing. I am great full to live here and do what I do here . I guess what a lot forget when they here and play is that it’s privilege to live in another not a right

Where are they living???? I guess they have no problems buying houses or renting decent 'affordable' places that's not 2 hours journey from work?? 🤔

Try living there for a few months before committing to shifting. Not magic, hot, dry and the first to already suffer climate change..

While NZ battles under Luxon and conservative government, especially without adequate foreign investment, this will continue to happen.

The more that go to Aussie the better as far as I'm concerned. The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence or in this case, ocean....good riddance to them and of course, good luck as well. It would be interesting to know how many of those leaving NZ for Aussie are recent NZ citizens, it wouldn't be the first time someone/people have used NZ as a backdoor entry into Australia.
