I didn't see anything I wanted that I don't already have, so I'm glad I decided not to get up early and deal with the crowds -- but, as others have noted, it made me really happy to see some people helping other people find what THEY wanted! Thanks for documenting this...

Nice overview, and good video evidence. Man they made thousands in the span of a few minutes there. The wall items literally disappeared in one shot. great grabs Chris!

Insanity on that wall! Always nice to have help out there when shopping records, I had that as well on Friday at Noble. It pays to make great conversation with everyone in line! Awesome grunge and metal pick ups!

my favorite part of rsd is meeting like-minded people and seeing the look on their face when I hand them the record they said they wanted 'that I didn't want' :)

That wall emptied quickly. Blake had a giant stack and very nice of him to pull those two albums for you. I really like Yield by Pearl Jam. The Brain label is so cool. I really like Spaghetti Incident. I’m happy with the WalMart Metallica pressings. “She did not kill Courtney Love.” The quote of the video. 5:20

Okay, that was insane especially the guy grabbing everything, that sucks and obviously he had the money, wow. Very nice how different collectors helped each other. Was hoping to see a fight but it was a peaceful group. Love that Galaxie 500 album, huge Wareham fan and love that group.
@VinylPiper2 ай бұрын
I think that grabby guy was from Australia and he had a store.. at least I thought I overheard that. There is lots of helping with others but there are some pretty not friendly people in there as well. I fight would have been interesting.. I've seen yelling, often.

@@VinylPiper The RSD album that i was having a hard time finding because it was sold out was the album re-issue of Error by the Warning i finally found it at a small store and they had the last two copies so i bought them both. It had three live tracks from their 2023 Mexico city Pepsi center concert. So i was a happy camper.

wow... this was a crazy video. It gave me a first hand account of the terrible greed which, in my opinion, is contributing to the demise of the whole hobby of record collecting in general... just wow. That being said, I am very glad that you posted this and enjoyed your first hand style of videography. Cheers!
@VinylPiper2 ай бұрын
is there a demise of the hobby of recording collecting? I don't see it. Yeah.. it very much is like a Walmart Black Friday sale.. I'm all for people getting the records but I'm not a big fan of the flippers going in there, getting the good stuff and then reselling. I see that often, especially at that store.
@R3TR0R4V32 ай бұрын
Man, that looked wild.. I didn't really want any part of the madness this year, although I did order a few RSD titles online - The Doors Detroit, Beatles 7", STP Purple rarities & Allman Brothers. Other than that, I'm good.. the Beatles US 64 boxset & Rhino HiFi Doors boxset pretty much wiped out my budget for this month, lol. 😅 Nice pickups! 😎

The way record safari did their morning is really sad to see. Thats a record store that doesn’t want to get in the middle of regulating competitive customers but they’re the only ones who have that power and they shouldn’t be leaving the customers to their own devices during a smash and grab event
@VinylPiper2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. They had zero RSD items. It was all used stuff. They can't be responsible for the crazy customers.
@showdown2006Ай бұрын
Safari looked so chaotic and unorganized. What's the point in showing up early when they let everyone in like that and only put 1 copy on the wall. Why do you need so many copies of Ride The Lightening? what are you a Taylor Swift fan? lol. Also the black album came out in 1991 not 1993.
@VinylPiperАй бұрын
Thanks for commenting.. you show up early to get the 1 pressing they put up on the wall that you want. They don't sell RSD pressings, just used records and they have a small new section. I still need another Ride the LIghtening.. the megaforce version. Yup, I like Taylor Swift. Ahh, 1991.. thx
