Is it easier to play the loud C with a key than without ? Because I havn't any key on mine and before buying a new one, I would be sure ... What do you think about the Mollenhauer Denner Tenor in cherry wood. Mine is pear and I prefer the sound of the pear wood than the sound of cherry wood wich is "lighter" ( sorry I'm frenchà

I've owned a cherry wood Kung Superio tenor for several years. My high C was slightly difficult when first bought. However as the years went by and lots of playing that high C is just fine now. Either the instrument changed a little over time or it trained me how to play it. I play a lot of baroque transverse flute music and that music uses high C, C# and D a lot. The Superio tenor handles these high notes very well. Of note is how strong the lowest C, C# play. They are loud and proud if you want it that way. I love this instrument because it plays all its notes loudly if you want and is well in tune. I notice a lot of the so called modern design tenors don't go real flat or sharp with varying breath pressure. The Kung also doesn't go flat or sharp much with varying breath pressure. I have watched a lot of your videos and think you do all of us a service by playing these different models and manufacturers of recorders. There are very few music stores that carry better quality recorders for one to try. None in my area.

I love the sound of tenor recorder! I have to say, in this recording, they both sound pretty much identical. Do you hear bigger differences in person?

Yes there are! Also the mollenhauer has easier top notes but I only have the Kung its the only tenor I want :)

@@arwenacoustic795 A nice wooden tenor is on my wish list for sure. I actually own a wooden tenor which I got secondhand, but it's had like 40 years of hard usage so it is VERY tired and noticeably out of tune. So I will just have to save up.

@@orirune3079 defo get them out on approval, its a big investment a tenor. I used to own a keyless rottenburgh in boxwood, that had a nice sound too :)
