@@SleepingOrchard Happy enough! I had to pull it up to refresh my memory. I'd been wanting to put together a retro tech KZbin channel forever and I wanted to create a background music loop I could chop up and put behind certain sequences. It's just a two chord loop that I improvise and expand on for 5 minutes. I've still never made the channel, but when my friend asked me if I had anything he could use as hold music for business, that's what he's currently using. It does sound like hold music. 😅

One more fun tidbit is that since I didn't have any outboard FX, I decided to record it into the computer for FX and light editing, and then I recorded it (still multitrack) back to tape to give it even more saturation. I can't remember if I did the stereo mix on the unit itself or if I recorded the tracks back into the computer to mix and bounce but if I did it was just to set the levels and I tried not to touch much else.

At 6:41 is that an artifact of the tape echo from the guitar or did you play that in?
@SleepingOrchard4 ай бұрын
Oooh I’m not sure, I can’t hear it on my phone. I’d imagine so, there’s a slight loose connection somewhere in the tape echo that can sometimes make odd sounds and pops. I will listen again on headphones and see if I can identify.

Makes me wanna throw my daw out the window and do the same. I had a Portasound and that bontempi when I was young. I prayed for perfection then, I now have it and hate it

Ah wow, you even had the bontempi too! I totally understand, I always come back to the cassette after a period of using the computer. Now I try to just use computer for mixing other musicians and the tape for my own stuff.

beautiful you should send out the instrumental, and see if anyone can sing to it and you can pick your favorite.

That’s a cool idea! They’d all sing it much better than me!! 😂
