Ingenius. This is prompting me to sample my old drum kit out in the garden now. What DAW are you using for your setup? The midi programming of drums made me think of the Dr Rex Looper in Reason but that is definitely not Reason. I am perplexed. I must know!

DO IT! I use cubase, always have. I do wonder about having a look at ableton but learning a new DAW is too daunting.

Ableton's workflow is built around live looping and editing so it would be a good DAW for what you're doing, but it is quite difficult to learn by itself, especially since it's different from other DAWs.
