You have NO idea how helpful this was for me. Sometimes it's just difficult getting your foot in the door when it comes to learning a new DAW. This definitely was a nice introduction to Reaper, and I'm super excited about all the gear I bought now. Thanks dude!

Thank you so much for taking the time to cover this subject in such slow and deliberate detail. As a beginner this video has finally made sense of all the poor edits, quick clicks, and mumbled words of the vast majority of Reaper demo and explanation videos on youtube. Bravo!

Please note, on a PC with ASIO driver, if you have an interface with multiple inputs, you'll need to be sure to select the "first" and "last" inputs to include the input(s) you plan to use. If you do not, and it's not selected by default (it may not be), then you will not find your input when setting up your track. (Visible on video at 1:53)

Thanks so much! I have been searching all day for a solution to why I kept hearing feedback through my headset yet not through my recordings. Turns out it was simply me not selecting with a checkmark the latency value of which I’ve changed to 128 as per your recommendation. And that did the trick! Thanks again.

Some audio interfaces have direct monitoring which means that latency doesn't matter - provided you don't play back as you record and you don't mind a completely dry monitor sound. And why would you?

how would you preceed, when the vocals are recorded? would you keep the FX on and just stick to tuning and de essing ? or would you delete these effects, and start all over when the time came for actual mixing? are these fx and settings only a guide for when recording? they sound good and i would assume they'd fit in a mix, ofcourse only if the rest of the instruments were properly recorded and mixed aswell. hope you can answer these questions, have a nice day.

Hello Kenny! Would you kindly list for me the videos needed for me to watch on how to operate REAPER for VOICE OVER ACTORS only? I would much appreciate it ! There are many videos on the website that kinda got me lost, and I want to get straight forward to understanding on how to use the software for V/O work only! I came here from the BOOTH JUNKIE! So thank you so much for your time and effort into explaining everything about reaper ! You are a legend!

Thanks for such a wonderful and informative video. I have been following the same but in my case the Recording track, when armed with recording shows level meter moving UP and Down, while the Karoke Track is being played which is not in your case. End result is the out put of the recording contains both Vocals and poor recording of Karoke track. I even tried configuring Recording as Output and then selecting No input but in this case the signal from Mic is not shown in the level meter. Pls help me configuring so that when I play Karoke track, it should not be recorded in Recording track. Only the recording track should be recored with Vocals from Input Mic. Thanks
