I picked up this turntable in a sale and I've got to say I'm very impressed. Quality control does leave a little to be desired however. Ironically I think there's perhaps too much dampening fluid in my tone arm and that caused it to be really stiff and not track the grooves very well causing it to jump and skip. I loosened a screw around the back where the counter weight is and voila it works perfectly. Bluetooth functionality is a nice bonus too!

I bought this from you more than a year ago for my daughter. Still works well. Yes the strobe markings are completely uncalibrated but since the speed is pretty much spot on in locked mode, not an issue. I also took it apart and added some very thick damping grease (plastic safe!) to the cueing mechanism to keep the needle from crashing down on the record since I knew my daughter wouldn't be as careful as I would be. Hooked up via the pre-amp outputs to a set of Edifier 1280BT speakers (she wasn't getting my Edifier R2000DB's!) and it's definitely a nice sounding and nice looking starter system.

This may explain the strobe issue? My theory on the strobe issue at 33 1/3 is, that after comparing the strobe markings on the 60hz 33 1/3 section of the VPRO platter with the number of markings on the Hudson Strobe Disc, I came up with 226 for the Hudson Disc, compared with a count of 261 dots on the VPRO. So I believe this is most likely merely a case of a simple design flaw. Further, I do believe the number of dots for 33 1/3 at 50Hz is correct, which explains why some buyers report no strobe issue at either speed. So, basically this explains why turntables sold in Europe work with the strobe at 33 and 45, and the units sold in 60hz markets such as the U.S.A. only show a lock at the 45 speed only.

Album "The Scene Changes" by Perry Como, nice album, Perry's first in Nashville, and without Mitchell Ayres conducting. It looks really worn on the last song by the label. It had the black label with Nipper originally. This copy is after 1968. In print a fairly long time from '65 to about '71. Then RCA purged a lot of its back catalog.

I have purchased several of these, tested and made some necessary repairs. my observations, So far... Set up is finicky... Tends to indicate a lower tracking force than indicated. Antiscate, like on many budget units, is well "Funky!" recommend setting that with a blank disc or large format DVD. Strobe? What strobe?...This function is inoperative on all samples. Bluetooth works well, sounds good, and has very decent range. This has quartz lock, so speed is accurate. It's a little bit of a poser compared to Audio Technica's Professional direct drive. The S shape tone arm apes, many premium turntable and at a glance appears to have a removable cartridge shell... Unfortunately this is fixed. Motor Noise excessive on one sample. In this price range it's not too bad for what you get. You mentioned the weight, and you were right, as there is a heavy, well placed, flat steel plate mounted inside plinth bottom. For the Money, it's not too bad, and an OK price for a decent machine that plays 78's. I Have an Email in to Victrola on the strobe issue.

Hi! I was thinking of getting this turntable as an upgrade from my Audio Technica LP60 that I got back in 2017. I don't need the fanciest turntable out there and thought this might be a good upgrade. I was looking at the Audio Technica LP120 but that is currently priced at $400 CAD! I don't think I need to invest in that... For half the price, I thought this one would be good! The strobe problem: I'm in Europe with DC 50 Hz. So the strobe led's refresh also with 50 Hz and the strobe markings for the human eyes look's ok. The tone arm drop problem: The tone arm lift works well, but .... The aluminum platter is positioned too high. This can't be fixed. The bluetooth is hit and miss. When you have a connection with an external device and the turntable isn't used for about 15 minutes, the turntable automatic powers off. You have to start the bluetooth pairing all over again. Tested with 7 bluetooth devices. There is no memory regarding the last paired device and an auto bluetooth reconnect. The aluminium platter also wobbles and is not produced with any calibration. I bought this thing for € 75. It is still better than those cheap 8$ chinese turntable mechanisms, but this turntable has many design flaws.

3 grams sounds pretty light, hopefully, 👎 not too light, where, when listening to 🔊 bass intensive songs, sends the tonearm ⛸ skating across your record. This leads me to ask, does this record player have an anti-skate feature? Maybe 3 grams is adequate. Shango066 often talks about certain records, and 👍 how the tonearm goes ⛸ skating across the record, if the 🔊 bass is too intense. The style of tonearm really gives this turntable the '50's look. Just be careful with heavy tonearms (30 grams, I think 📻 Radiotvphononut said), especially while playing styrene records. A tonearm this heavy could ✂ cut clean through the record on the very first play, let alone, completely ruin it. I 👍 like woodgrain turntables, even if they're veneer over particleboard. The smell, and the look, as you take it out of the 📦 box, and unwrap it. Your friend, Jeff.

If you need a second deck, for the purpose of playing 78's, you should invest in the correct needle for that purpose, and your enjoyment of the music recorded in the distant past is a convenient reality.
